The Houston Bowl has a couple of cow colleges going against each other. Are the aggies really 5 points better than OSU? To be honest I refuse to watch the aggies all I have to do is check the box scores that tells me everything I need to know. Go pokes.

The Holiday Bowl has IA/SC. To be honest there are a few non horn teams I like to follow SC being one of them. IA is favored by 2 but Clay Helton has too much to lose in this game. I'm going with the Trojans in an upset.

Oh btw Mack Brown is going to end his first season back at NC with a bowl win over Temple.

Halftime score

OK cow college 14
TX cow college 7

In the 1st q
IA 7
SC 7

I just noticed this morning that all 6 Big XII teams are underdogs in their bowl games. I sure hope we don't lose them all.

I watched the tx aggy vs ok aggy and it was a pretty good game. Both teams looked decent, though osu didn't have there star wr Wallace.

I think USC will regret not getting rid of Helton. Every time I would watch a segment at different points in the game, Iowa was in firm control and simply beating them on offense and beating them on defense. Helton just completed his 5th season at USC and they don't look like a team on the rise. Harrell passed 48 times and only ran 18 times for a total of 22 yards on the ground. That is 27% rushing/73% passing. That doesn't work in any league. Harrell may get some heat for this.

I guess Herman barely completing his 3rd season doesn't seem so bad after watching USC tonight in Helton's 5th full season.

Technically it's only Helton's 4th full season. It was still a game at halftime. SC kicked a fg on the last play before halftime. Then they took the ball to start the 2nd half and had their best possession of the game. Then they executed a successful onside kick. They had a chance to score 17 straight points without a single play from IA. But IA stiffened and that was the turning point of the game. They forced a punt and scored a td. On the next possession Kedan Slovis got a concussion fumbled and IA recovered. At that point SC fell apart. The backup qb is a walkon safety and like it. Dyk that SC is last in the Pac XII in recruiting? The fb program at SC is in disarray. The social media heat will turn up again. Nobody will consider that the game turned when the qb got hurt. Helton may not survive.

And watching that backup qb reminded me of Garrett Gilbert in the AL game. Pitiful just pitiful.

You are right, Cali, my bad. I had forgotten about the Steve Sarkisian debacle. Helton could turn it around, but all I see is a lot of negativity in body language and lack of overall energy. I was listening to Reggie Bush and he made note of Iowa being the 99th rated scoring offense in the nation and still hanging 49 points on them. I feel for them because Texas has been in such a similar situation.

You're right SC and TX have traveled the same path the last 35 years. All that tradition, blue blood status, but both schools have missed on hc selections. I expect SC to make a coaching change within the next few days.

If I remember right, I think USC already publicly came out to say Helton would be back. Already took a lot of flack for it too. I'm not saying you are wrong, they could drop him now, but man, what a mess.

Yes they did but that was before NSD 1 and last night's game. Their new ad also dragged his feet before he announced Helton would remain. We'll see.

Either way, a bad situation is merely getting worse. It seems that many fans were already upset at keeping Helton. Bombing on NSD1 and in the bowl game certainly doesn't help.

If they do decide to move on from Helton, the breakup is sloppier than it needed to be. They are behind the 8-ball on finding a replacement and letting him recruit a transition class, etc.

That USC athletic department is a mess right now. We were there not too long ago. I think an AD like Chris Del Conte is what we needed to get out of our death spiral. Not sure they have the right AD at USC.

They have the cash for Meyer the Mercenary.

This is my thought about their new ad. He just got there a month ago. He came from Cincinnati which has a good fb program. I don't have any sources but UC's bowl game isn't till next week. But the new ad might want to bring his fc with him to LA. Maybe or maybe not lol
