**TEXAS vs Jaw Jaw OFFICIAL Gameday thread of Peach Dominance**

Let’s also remember that Sark decided to forgo two field goals when he opted to attempt two failed 4th down conversions. It could have made a difference or not. But, these decisions were made on a night where the offense was just struggling against a top defense. Shouldn’t you take points in this type of situation? Most of the 4th quarter still remained after the 2nd fail.
I'm trying to remember but I think mathematically it made more sense to go for it because if we kicked a field goal it would not have changed the number of possessions we needed to score on. He wasn't sure we would get the ball enough times to catch up if we only took the 3 points, and then the next drive it was the same scenario again.

It could be the math/probability thing, but a full quarter to get 2 scores is enough imho. Especially since our defense was playing so well. I believe the 1st 4th down fail was half way through the 3rd.

Georgia is a quality team with a quality coach. They simply were hungrier. I don’t blame Quinn. The pressured him all night, and we could not run the ball. Our defense was awesome. The won this go around, I think we win the next one.
I blame Quinn for playing injured (he admitted he wasn’t 100% healthy after the Loss). Selfish.

Do you blame everything on Quinn? The running backs didn’t run the ball very well. Wisner missed a pass that could have gone for a TD. Sark left ) 6 pts on the field by going for it on 4th twice and failing. My opinion is you have to give GA credit. 49-3 teams won’t lay down for anybody. I just don’t see how Quinn is the sole bearer of the loss and let Sark, RBs, OL, the penalty on the kick return and even Arch with his shifty performance in those 2 series. Had he performed, J would have been for keeping him in But, that wasn’t the case.

That and we have the worst kicker in memory when it comes to Texas football. Dude doesn't have a super strong leg and he is ridiculously inconsistent.

48y FG with 4:22 left in the 3rd that would've made score 23-11

Remember right after the 4th down fail, Barron had the pick, then Michelob Ultras went flying, then we scored a TD, so net positive here

Then PK decided to call defense like a bitch, not bring pressure on a 3rd and 10 from Georgia's own like 12 yard line and they convert. Pretty sure there was a blown coverage as the corner on the left of the defense acted as though he expected inside help on the dig...it was not there.

At that point, we're down 8, trying to come back from 23 down and the crowed and defense are going absolutely bonkers. Bring a 6 man pressure and deal with the consequence whatever happens. Mothertrucker that was a huge moment and epic fail.

Georgia goes on to score on a 4th and 1 from the 1 and pushes the lead to 15. it was a great drive by a championship caliber football team.

Next possession...

4th and 1 from Georgia 37. That is a 54y FG...ain't happening. That brings you 30-18 with about 10 minutes left.

Then Helm false starts and you have a 4th and 6. Punt does nothing here. Quinn ends up fumbling.

Next possession...

Offense is cooking for a bit. Then the 4th and 12 after another false start on this offense FFS. Georgia brings a 6 man pressure and QE can't hold his water for .5 seconds longer to put more on the throw to Wingo. It is low and has no zip...Wingo catches it but stumbles. That is a DC that recognizes the moment and doesn't call like a scared bitch.

Last possession...

We fail to convert on a 4th down from their 11 yard line.

Now, there were 4 instances of which Texas could've kicked a FG, which translates to 12 points. That is if Auburn makes a 48y, 54y, 46y, and a 28y FGs. That gives us 20 points with 1 extra possession in which we scored a TD after failing to go for it on a 4th down.

Do we scored a TD on a long sustained drive rather than being set up at the 9 yard line after a pick? I don't know.

In summary, I don't think the decisions to go for it on 4th were wrong. I think they were correct. The biggest **** up is something I have lamented on ad nauseum here, PKs conservative defensive call when we had a chance to knock those summbitches out. Maybe his ass didn't play Mortal Kombat growing up? I don't know.

Quinn was sacked 7 times (first half), -24 yards rushing (first half), a fumble (first half) and an interception (first half).

Yes, I do. Texas was losing by 3 scores to nothing at the half. QE (as the QB1) is expected to be the leader of the offense.

again always been a huge QE fan but he held the ball way to long and would constantly abandon the pocket to run straight into a defensive end on the edge.

I finally got the chance to watch the first part of his breakdown of the game. I haven’t gotten to the second yet. Based on what I’ve seen so far, I’d like to formally apologize to QE. Georgia did their homework and executed extremely well. He had his issues, but the tendencies that did us in are ones that I’ve heard Brooks mention in previous games. I thought Sark was playing vanilla to catch Georgia off guard…. We just have a vanilla offense that telegraphs what is coming if you’re good enough to see it, and we’re ****ed if you’re good enough to react to it.

It’s tough to watch, but worth it.

Nuthin’ but respect for Georgia’s game on both sides of the ball last Saturday.
