In case you missed the other thread, former UT RB commitment Ty Jordan flipped his commitment to Utah earlier tonight.

This one's been a bit of a pain to cover. Jordan visited Utah a couple weeks ago but has been completely silent since then (hell, even the way he announced his flip, on his private page on Instagram was odd). Any time a player goes that silent, it's usually not the best of signs. And I guess I should have put more stock in what I was told by our Utah pub following that visit ... people who were around Jordan on the visit thought it went very well and Utah had maybe even moved in front.

At any rate, this doesn't come as a shock to Texas and the staff has been talking to other prospects. I mentioned last week that Texas had been in touch with Rivals250 running back Tre Bradford, and he'd certainly be a suitable replacement. With all due respect to Jordan, if Texas can pull Bradford, that's probably an upgrade in my opinion. From what I was told tonight, Bradford isn't planning on signing until February and Ohio State, which was believed to be a major player for his commitment, is out of the race. Wisconsin would appear to be the Longhorns' biggest threat (it holds all five of the Rivals FutureCasts). I'm still checking around to get a better feel of where that one stands, but if he's not signing until February, I'd be mildly surprised if Texas didn't get Bradford in for a visit (he's already visited Wisconsin, if you're wondering).

Another name to remember is Denton Guyer's Kaedric Cobbs, who I wrote about in my 3-2-1 about a month ago. He's certainly a different style of runner than Jordan or Bradford, but he's a guy who has been in touch with the UT staff, has taken an unofficial visit earlier this year at the request of the coaches, and he's told me he'll be coming back for another visit after his season ends (Guyer is still alive in the playoffs).
