I haven't really wanted to bother the Houston-area recruits too much this week, for obvious reasons, but did check in with a few guys to see how they're holding up and to gather a couple quick updates.
--- In case you missed it over the weekend, UT DT commitment Keondre Coburn and his family had to evacuate their home. Coburn posted the following video:
I caught up with Coburn today and he said he and his family are doing fine despite the evacuation and damage to their house. They're staying with his brother. I'll have more from Coburn in the War Room tomorrow night but thankfully, he's staying positive through all he and his family are going through.
Another positive ... Coburn said he's been texting with all the other UT commits in the Houston area and to his knowledge, he's the only one that has had to evacuate or has had major issues.
--- UT tight end commitment Malcolm Epps is doing fine. His family had water at their door but everything is holding up well. Malcolm and his brother have been over at Westfield H.S. (Coburn's school) helping volunteer. Good for them.
--- B.J. Foster told me he and his family are doing fine. Foster now lives in Rosharon (just north of Angleton ... told me he's commuting). He said he'll be at the Texas game on Saturday.
--- D'Shawn Jamison told me he and his family are doing well and he will be at the game on Saturday.
--- I haven't communicated directly with UT commitment Al'Vonte Woodard, but did speak to a family member of his. I was told that they've dealt with lots of water, but no real damage and everyone is doing fine. There have been some discussions about Woodard coming to the game on Saturday but nothing is finalized. If Woodard wants to come, I was told his family will find a way to get him to the game.
--- Tight end Mustapha Muhammad said he and his family are perfectly fine. No college visits for Muhammad this weekend. He said he's looking forward to staying in and watching several games on UT.
--- Jaylen Waddle told me he's doing fine. He's considering flying to Atlanta this weekend for the Florida State-Alabama game.
--- Not Houston-area, but a nice honor for UT running back commitment Keaontay Ingram:
