1. The aggys completely quit on Saturday. SC was definitely more prepared and the more physical team, but the way aggy layed down and allowed the pummeling ... was just glorious. More of that, please.
2. That defense is talented, but the poor discipline/tackling was glaring. A bit of a let down after the LSU high, with SC resting at home... was definitely a perfect storm for the road loss. However, you could see the lack of culture and pride in that loss. If Texas, Sark (play calling), Ewers (feet) and Defense (shutting down the run) all show up on Nov. 30, I could see that aggy team getting butt hurt, quitty, etc... and allowing a two score game become a blow out... exactly like they did this weekend.
3. The end of the first half with OSU and Penn State was crazy! Two phenomenal defensive plays, balancing each other out, resulting in touchbacks for drives that looked destined to score. But that second half...
4. I said last week that Kentucky vs. Tenn might be a good indicator of what we see from Kentucky in a few weeks. 4/16 on 3rd and 4th downs with 10 penalities won't cut it... but it was still a 3 point game with 12 minutes left. This will be another just win and move on type of game.
5. Florida vs. Georgia: Florida was actually up 13-6 at half and were outscored 28-7 in the second half. Passing numbers were dreadful for both QBs against Georgia (sounds familiar). But I did notice they only gave up 2 sacks to Georgia. When you look at the play by play... it's clear Georgia's offense had to work hard for everything. Most of their points came off short fields and they only really had 3 sustained drives all game. Sark spoke about Florida playing well up front ... and looks like both their lines did their job. Didn't get enough help from the QBs at all to pull the upset (again, sounds familiar).
6. I like the 11:00 kick for Texas vs. Florida. This is not a game I'd want my QB sitting around, thinking about all day. Get up and let 'er loose. I expect a similar outcome as the Georgia/Fla game, but in reverse order. Texas is up 21-3 at half. Wins 31-17... but Florida cuts it to 24-17 at some point.
7. Arkansas has a bye this week prior to playing Texas the following week. At 5-4... this is a season salvaging game for Pittman. Ole Miss beat them deep and over the top. We really need Ewers to find his mojo this week... Arch's strength is the deep ball. If Sark goes to Arch against Arky, it's not like the Georgia situation and could be the official changing of the guard.
