The defense is expected to be ahead of the offense at this point in practice but what I am hearing is two things stood out,# 1,every throw is under stress from the pass rush and the coverage has been extremely tight.
Of course its easier to cover when you have a pass rush pressuring the QB,but what I am hearing is much improvement from the DBs.

Kobe Bryant was mentioned as being much improved from the spring, much quicker and becoming known for his physicality. He is mainly running with the twos, but that just means he is matched up with Wingo and Cook catching passes from Arch,so its no free bee.

Sydir Mitchell is a force at nose, players say he is as hard to move as Sweat was,the only question is haw many snap he can give you at full speed.

The DL is running many more stunts on the interior, and it is giving the OL some problems at this point,it was called the Johnny Nansen effect and two players that really seem to excel at it is Alford Collins and Jaray Bledsoe. It allows them to use their quickness and athleticism to blow up plays.

One other thing that has stood out has been the play of Liona Lafou, Hill is the unquestioned starter at MLB but Lafou play has been good enough to allow the possibility of Hill and him to be on the field at the same time and that frees up Hill to pass rush from different angles.

Everyone agrees that Nansen presence means a more attacking style defense and more stunts and blitzs.

Some of the younger players that are making some noise--Daniel Cruz- by all accounts he is the real deal,he was described as a grown man strength wise and the quickest OL man on the team.

Jordan Rubell-He was described as a player that loves contact and punches above his weight, definatly a early special team contributor.

Parker Livingstone-His length and speed has created some mismatches with the smaller corners and he catches everything

Tyanthony Smith- He was always fast and aggressive but after adding 25lbs he is ahead of schedule in his physical development and ready to contribute now.

Vacek-he has been terrorizing 1st ,2nd and third team QBs, he works mostly with the twos and threes but he is on a definite upward trajectory and is describe as one of those guys that when he gets his first start,he is going to be hard to unseat.--utx
