We are dealing with some sham candidates this primary season, especially for the lesser known races. One of which is the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. My dad (a born and bred Longhorn) is running for place 5 on the Court. He is eminently qualified, but he is running against three other candidates in the GOP primary.
Instead of telling everyone to blindly vote for him, I included the candidate picks from all Texas newspapers who make candidate picks below. With that resource, and hopefully some further research, I hope everyone can come to their own decision on whether or not they'd like to support his candidacy. I also included an article on the exoneration proceeding of Michael Morton, a Williamson County man who was wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for the murder of his wife. My dad presided over the proceeding and even ordered a court of inquiry to hold accountable those who were responsible for his wrongful conviction and continued imprisonment -- one of the most satisfying experiences of his life to be sure.
Thanks and Hook 'em!
