Aggies are Invisible

They'll be back to playoff contenders by the Spring game, don't worry.

That's actually kind of odd that they're not mentioned, since the Aggies were one of the losers of NSD 2016. They dropped in the rankings, and Sumlin sure sounded depressed and defensive about his class.

I think it's about right to not be mentioned. The class was still a top 20 class and for all the change, transfers, coaching rumors, firing of the AD, etc. a top 20 class really isn't that bad. There are some really good players in this class that I like.

However, it does really suck to see so many kids that were A&M leans, some as much as 2 years go elsewhere. We missed again with linebacker IMO. I think a couple we signed were decent but that is a GLARIING hole right now. I'm looking at things as not so bad all things considered. If Sumlin struggles again though on the field then it's going to get really ugly for the Ags. The momentum shift could be long lasting if Strong can put it together, but yet it could shift back if Strong can't do anything with the talent on the field. His coaching has been flat out bad so far, and much of this board wanted him gone last year. Again, as you guys have said February won't get you very far come September if you can't coach. It's yet to be seen...SO FAR.

You guys have been kings for the past 3 years to say recruiting and stars don't matter, so we will see how these guys develop, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't want about 8 or 9 of those players you got. I couldn't say that the past few years.
