Alabama vs Tennessee

Is bama that good? Or does tennessee just suck? 49-10 with still most of the 4th Qtr to go.

Jalen Hurts is a wildly inaccurate passer.
Jalen Hurts, true freshman starter for nation's #1 team from the state of Texas. He is completing 63.8% of his passes, with 9 TDs and 2 INTs and 8.17 per attempt. GET YOU SOME!!!
Shane Buechele-- 62.6--7.77--TDs/INT,11-4, His stats are better than UT's true freshman starter!!!

Great stats. I was watching Jalen in the 1st half against Tennessee.

Jalen finished today 16-26 (5.5 yard average), 143 yards, 1 interception, and 0 TDs. His misses were way off target. Most of his passes connected near the line of scrimmage. The others were big misses.

Stats include today's game. Obviously you do not know what you are talking about. VY to WR fan.

It might be good to note that he has feet too! He had 132 yds rushing and 3 td's. You can afford inaccuracy when he brings that kind of dual threat. TAMU will have their hands full next week.

Jalen is a very talented athlete. I was only commenting on his passing in 1 game, against Tennessee, in the 1st half (real time, like we do when we are watching a Texas game). Alabama led at the half, 21-7, because of a defensive TD, & 2 rushing TDs. Video evidence shows his throws that missed were not close to connecting to a WR.

Hurts doesn't have to be great. Alabama knocks all the defenders down and he runs for a TD. I wonder why all the none 5 star only schools don't move to this scheme?

SEC folks acknowledging what I saw yesterday. Also, they mention that Hurts' completion rate beyond the line of scrimmage is around 30-40%.
We will see if Chavis and TAMU can force him to do things he's not comfortable with. If they can keep him in the pocket and make him pass downfield there is a chance for some success. I'm sure that's Bama's defensive gameplan for Knight as well.

If they can do that, the game will be interesting. Hurts has a wind up to his delivery, making his pocket passes easier to bat down/track down-due to the slower delivery. That, coupled with his downfield accuracy issues could get Bama beaten. Bama beats you running, put a spy on him. Did you see the one the Vols batted away and intercepted? Hurts was trying to throw it away.

Garrett and Hall will have to dominate for TAMU to have any chance.
The line is Bama -17. This may be the best team they have had under Saban. 1/3 of their scholarship players are former 5 star recruits. That's insane.

aTm should be absolutely giddy about their opportunity this year. Everything is aligned for the ag's to step into the rarified atmosphere of elite teams....somewhere they have not legally been since 1957. They had an off week to prepare for Bama. That gave them 2 weeks to plan schemes and get all their work in. 2 weeks for injuries to heal. They ought to feel so good about what can happen for them if they just win this one game.....stepping stone to the big stage.

Everything is laid out for them....all they have to do is win.

Quite true. My fear is that Bama is just miles better than everyone else in the country this year. The few times Bama has lost the past few years is when they beat themselves and turn the ball over (games against ole miss). If they play mistake free its going to be very difficult. But that's why they play the games.

To be honest Tapeface....Every team would be very hard to beat if they played mistake free....even KU. Bama wins because they over come those mistakes they make with superb athletes and coaching.

Maybe I should clarify. Bama loses when they turn the ball over a lot (think they had 5 last year vs. Ole Miss).
I would disagree about KU. They wont win many games even if they don't have turnovers. I do agree that Bama wins because they have the best coach of this generation and the best players.
The TAMU defense has forced a significant amount of turnovers this year so we will see.

If A&M plays great, we might win. If Alabama play well they will win. Best team normally wins, but not always. Just hope it is close. They are better than everyone else.

If you review Bama roster, they are getting the best players from the Entire South, players from Texas,Arkansas,LA,Florida and their Home state so they are loaded plus a good coaching staff.Hurt runs faster than it looks on film and very composed for a freshman QB,in short,he is cool, slick and will be in the running for the Heisman at the end of the year.

Why didn't Texas get Hurts. I understand his father is a high school coach in Texas.
Going to guess due to the fact that they already had a commitment from a top tier QB in Buechele. I think after Shane was set in stone that he was coming, that pretty much turned off all of the other QB's in this class. A guy like Hurts wouldn't want to come to the same place as a guy like Buechele when he has offers other top tier places and vice versa.

Hurt wouldn't look as good on an average team. It helps when the defenders get knocked down and your defense/ST outscores the opposing offense.
He's good, but supporting cast makes him look really good.

Hurts beat out 3-4 other QBs for the Alabama job starting last spring into the fall and first game, including 5 star Blake Barnett and seasoned vet ,Cooper Bateman, in the program and scheme. He was not given the job by default because of no QBs on the roster.

At the time I bet Watson and Strong were not interested in another dual threat QB and wanted to go in a different direction. I think they liked Shane better.
