So much talk about Bama, I'm kinda getting the feeling I had when we played USCw.

Starting to feel like Clemson wins. Maybe not enough to bet on it, but trending that way.

I see some parallels to this MNC game & the '06 MNC game (Texas vs USC).

1. Alabama and USC are the dynasty programs with the Heisman RB.

2. Clemson & Texas are the underdogs with the QBs that won the Davey Obrien award.

3. For me, it ends there. USC had 2 Heisman winners on their team (QB & RB).

4. Texas & USC had been the dominant #1 & #2 programs all year. Then, it was everyone else.

5. Texas' defense and the O-line were nasty.

6. VY was sick.

We woulda beat their asses if he hadn't got hurt

Hope Clemson takes their asses to the shed!

You're probably right. If he hadn't gone down this crap would never have been written. We would have beaten their asses if he hadn't gotten hurt...

I hope you're right, but going into the game against USC, we were scoring more points (by a little), were giving up fewer (by a lot), and were much better on special teams. There were objective reasons to think that Texas stood a good chance of winning the game and wasn't being given the level of respect it deserved based on its play on the field that year. Clemson is not exactly in the same position.

Such revisionist bullshit...could, Should, woulda....no one knows how the game would have played out. If your aunt had balls (she probably does) she'd be your uncle

Of course no one knows how things would have gone, but the matchups were definitely in our favor. I'm the eternal pessimist when Texas plays (through years of conditioning), but I even felt very good about our chances going into that game.

Still makes me ill to think about it. Right up there with 1983.

lets not forget....VY probably deserved to be the Heisman Award winner over Bush,,,,It was at least pretty controversial....we did have much going for us that game. I dont think anyone thought we were just lucky to win

We expected to win all of our games that year, by a lot. Regarding the season games, it was a bad game for Texas if it was a close game. VY deserved the Heisman. Most people outside of USC and A&M agree.
