Am I the only person who thinks Jerrick Gibson should be getting more carries?

He seems to get downhill fast, runs behind his pads, and set ups his blocks. The perfect guy to compliment Blue and the huge O-line.

He’s a true freshman. He’ll get his carries.
I am sure he is struggling with pass protection and maybe his hands aren’t great. I just saw that TD at Michigan with 4 yards after contact running like Bevo after UGA and want to see more of that as we enter SEC play.

I agree with you, but I trust Choice more than just about any other coach on staff. It is probably a combination of factors (some you mentioned): playbook mastery, pass pro, health, endurance, longevity, etc.

I think he will start to see more time on the field

Thanks for the reassurance. You are right, Choice is the best man to make that decision. I love what Blue brings ( when he protects the ball), but my eyes see Gibson as a better compliment than Wisner. Truthfully, most of our RB's would be starters other places, so you have to give the coaches all the credit for finding these guys and getting them ready with all the injuries we have had.

I think Wisner compliments Blue and Gib was supposed to be the compliment to CJ, but obviously injuries have devastated that plan

My spies tell me that Gibson has been a little banged up the past couple of weeks. The staff thinks very highly of him and he figures prominently in the future of the program. I expect we’ll see him back on the field tomorrow.

Gibson (should) evolve into the better overall talent.
In time.
But he's got to learn to become a Swiss army knife. His pass blocking is for sh!t and he's just a freshman. The game is still moving REALLY fast.

Color me wrong. Wisner looked like SEC rb today, running through tackles, and carrying the offense. Maybe I should recommend we start Arch, so. QE wakes TF up.

Yeah, I'd definitely color you wrong on that take. I like Wisner, I like him a lot but he's not the complete all purpose back that we need right now. Hell, neither is Blue but he's the closest right now. Rotating them to always have fresh legs and finding out who has the hot hands for the day situationally is working.

Arch will be likely be the 1st rounder we expect him to be but we aren't handling QBs like Texas of old anymore. Sark stacks the room & gets 1-2 yrs out of a well developed qb instead of replacing a 4yr starter with wide eyed, unexperienced prospects with potential.

That's how we lose games we should dominate and ruin potential stud qbs. Take Garrett Gilbert for example. He broke damn near every HS record and was considered the next QB Jesus but was thrown to the wolves undeveloped. If he could have sat backup for 2-3yrs then take over, I'd bet he'd be in the UT HOF and possibly working on nfl honors.

Quinn had a rough half against a really stout defense after sitting out a month. Healthy, he's our best shot at playing in January.

We're in good hands my man. Strong & mensa Herman aren't here trying to catch up with Kansas anymore.

I don't think Gibson is 100% healthy right now and that's why he only got a few snaps against OU. To me, he's probably got the most upside of any back on the roster (outside of Baxter) but he's still really young.

I think Wisner should be getting the majority of the carries at this point though. He just has better vision and patience from what I see. Blue is more a change of pace guy and a guy you want to use outside the tackles. He doesn't have the patience or vision for some of those inside/outside zone schemes they like to run.
