Applewhite named HC at Houston

Sweet I suspect they got him on the cheap and he was willing to sign that contract that keeps him from leaving.
Turning down DC at Texas to be DC at Houston doesn't compute in my brain. I guess if he and Major are BFFs or something.
Highly unlikely! Orlando was going after the same position.
I would guess Orlando for DC seems to be the given. I don't know the protocol as far as the bowl game and timing of an announcement though?
My guess is Houston felt like Major was going to stick around awhile and that's why he got the job. I mean his dream job is probably UT and that's going to be filled for awhile(we hope)
I doubt Kyle Allen chose Houston because of Major, but I would think the odds of him staying at Houston regardless were pretty strong. 2x transfers are pretty rare unless they are head cases.
I thought the Kyle Allen stuff was just hypothetical talk or did he actually put it out there that transferring was a possibility?
That's good, he was very under rated as an OC I thought. I liked what he did for us 2013. And did good at UH.
Congrads to Major,he will have head coaching experience on his resume which could be good for him in the future.

I really wanted Applewhite to come back to Texas. Dude can flat out recruit. He was the lead recruiter on alot of our top level guys when he was here.
