Unlike most of you, I don’t think Pierce was wrong leaving Tristan out there. He is a ground ball pitcher and we needed a ground ball. He got two of them but they found holes. It is the way it goes. He is also trying to chew up innings in order to save the staff as much as possible. Tristan hadn’t thrown many pitches either going into the inning and didn’t throw many in his first start either.

Last night I thought was a different story. Witt just didn’t have it in the 8th and should have been out of there a couple batters earlier. He was also out there on short rest after throwing 5+ a couple days before.

Tristan barely survived the 5th. I guess u wanted him to pitch thru the 6th and we r down 5+ runs. He was out of gas and needed to be pulled after the 1st or 2nd hitter. When u have a bullpen like ours, we don't need to be a pussy about pulling pitchers who r struggling.
