Baylor on OTL: ESPN right now

Part of the story today that was new to me, was how BU had a rape charge in 2013 involving their TE and a walk on hack. They decided not to review the paperwork and investigate the charge until 2015.

Thats burying the papertrail Big Red Motors style.

Yup.. this is what I was referencing when I said Briles was helping cover up the rapes for the last 2 years... no way in hell one of his players get accused of something of that magnitude and he not know.......

Hope that clears it up Dia

Any sexual assault committed by a Baylor student surprises me.

What exactly about Oakman led you to believe, or at least not be surprised, that he would be arrested for sexual assault? Because he is big?
He put his hands on a female cashier at Penn State when stealing. So it lead me to believe he didn't have a ton of respect for women, or the law in general. And he looks the part. You have to do more than look at the cover to understand a book, but it is gives you an idea of what's coming.

You are still suprised after 5 rapists? Fool me once shame on you, fool me 5 times shame on ........ That's like me sounding shocked if Speedy Noil gets caught smoking weed. I'd be mad for sure, but suprised?

What about him "looks the part"?

What? I'm asking MM why he described Baylor football players as "wild dogs" and wondering what was the exact characteristic of Oakman that led him to not be "surprised" that he is charged with sexual assault. He's the one using loaded terms and phrases.
Well I was giving Baylor the benefit of the doubt. Only 2 things seem possible. You are either bringing in criminals or have a culture that turns good kids into rapists. I lean towards them being that way before they got to waco. Maybe i'm wrong, and it is the culture in waco.

My thug radar appears to be dead on. Why are you taking up for this piece of sh1t. He raped someone's daughter.
Who is taking up for him? You have now used the terms/phrases "wild dogs", "looks the part" and now "thug". Maybe I watch too much Fox News and MSNBC.

Forgive me if I am a little sensitive right now - the Bliss debacle was over a decade ago, but to any BU alum it seems it happened yesterday. The Elliott rape - there is a bad kid in every crowd. The Ukwuachu conviction - plausible deniability. But freaking Oakman? You know how this is a hot button issue for Baylor, how everyone is on edge, how a lawsuit was just filed and every single stone is about to be turned over, and instead of being on your best behavior you assault a coed? WTF??? I believe in Briles, but.......

I believe Briles will do ANYTHING to win. Including covering up crimes. Like Bliss.

I am not good at being PC. As long as you aren't taking up for these guys, I'll leave you alone. I've lived thru 2 of our thugs pistol whipping their dealer, so I know everyone has bad apples. And neither Golden or Claiborne was a suprise to me either. They were both trouble from day 1.
It's not like you did anything wrong. It is normal to close ranks when bad things happen, but rape is about as bad as it gets. I have daughters so this scares the hell out of me.

So?? I mean I could also bring up UTs history as well, but this thread is about Baylor. Hence, my post was about the relevant topic at hand. Thanks though.
So, a $ooner is the LAST person to point their crooked finger at a team/fanbase/administration for abandoning their morality to win football games given ou's complete acceptance of all manner of cheating and criminality (including violence against women over and over) during the past half century nonstop. Your post was arguably the most ludicrous thing posted on the entire internet yesterday. That's what. You're welcome. Just effing ridiculous.

Yes, please bring up UT's past of coddling felons and wife beaters over and over like Bob Stoops. Oh we don't? OK, thanks for playing.

Briles is a scumbag. Ken Starr and the Baylor admins are bigger scumbags.

And what's even more ludicrous and ridiculous is you actually believe this.

You have zero self awareness or honesty. A $ooner calling someone out for selling out morals to win at football is the most ridiculous thing possible.

Joe Mixon alone should tell you to STFU but you're not smart enough.

Lol, so I'm assuming you think UT's history is squeaky clean?? What's ridiculous here is you actually think if a person is a fan of a team that has a questionable past, then that makes them ridiculous or stupid for recognizing when other programs are doing shady things as well. Get off your self-appointed pedestal man.

No, we've committed infractions. What you $ooners have never been able to grasp however are the very simple concepts of severity and frequency. Yes, a jaywalking ticket is a crime. It's not the same thing as being a serial killer though.

A $ooner doesn't get to claim the moral high ground on any team. Ever. Your CURRENT starting RB is a girl beater for Christ's sake. Good lord.

So when have I been attempting to claim a moral high ground here?? You literally spend your days on here resorting to making asinine assumptions (based on what team a poster is a fan of) in order to fuel your name calling and belittling comments. Because using your own "logic" that OU fans can't make any judgements or comments on another program simply based on OUs history....then by your own admission of UT having committed infractions over the course of history, that would also make you incapable of making judgements and/or comments about another program as well right?? C'mon Scholz...don't be a hypocrite man.

So when have I been attempting to claim a moral high ground here??
Already posted it once, Jethro.

I concur that this is pretty much the truth. It's really sad too. Baylor has tasted a bit of football glory, and now they are literally trading their morals for wins on the football field. Firing Briles means they risk returning to what they were prior to Briles arriving, and I don't think the powers at Baylor can handle that reality.
Beyond ridiculous from a $ooner.

Sorry...try again. Simply stating an opinion about Baylor is NOT taking a moral high ground about the program I'm a fan of. If I were in fact, attempting to take the high road, I would have injected OU into my original post and attempt to differentiate OU as being "better than that". But fact is, I never mentioned OU as a comparison, and simply commented about Baylor on it's own.

So once again...where in this thread am I attempting to claim a moral high ground??

Right hand to god, if I had a sister or a daughter and she was raped.............just reserve me a room in Huntsville.

On second thought, I'd probably kidnap the dude first and drive him across state lines before I cut his head off and then fornicated with his skull on the steps of the police station in Little Rock. Declare me insane and send me to a Federal Mental facility. I'd bake you guys cupcakes when you came to visit.

I'd send you a rock hammer and a poster of Raquel Welch, but I think you would become a bull queer in the slammer.

$ooners don't get to talk about morality or ethics. You're immoral and unethical. You don't get to say someone else is immoral. It's the height of hypocrisy. Follow, dumbass? Probably not.

I'm not a sooner, and don't care to speak up for them. But there is a big difference between cheating to win football games, drug use, and whatever else they supposedly did and rape. Even in prison everyone looks down on sexual predators, so I think the sooner has a right to look down on rapists as well.

So since you think OU is unethical and immoral, you automatically make an assumption that all OU fans are equally unethical and immoral in their day to day lives?? And you're claiming that I'm the dumbass here?? LOLOL

Not what I said, moron. I said you don't get to cast aspersions on other fanbases giving up morality for football wins. You're full blown retarded, dude. Fact.

4 recent $ooner players who exhibited violence against women and $ooner scumbags gave up their morality and condoned it for football wins:
  1. Just Chaisson kidnapped a girl, beat her and threatened to murder her with a screwdriver - OK with $ooner fans and Bob Stoops
  2. Dorial Green Beckham pushed a girl down a flight of stairs (not his first offense) and got kicked out of Mizzou - OK with $ooner fans and Bob Stoops
  3. Frank Shannon attempted to rape a girl resulting in a Title IX lawsuit at blowu - OK with $ooner fans and Bob Stoops
  4. Joe Mixon punched a girl in the face so hard he broke several of her bones - OK with $ooner fans and Bob Stoops (in fact it was so acceptable by $ooner fans that the video tape of his cowardly attack was covered up by restaurant owner, police dept, prosecutor's office, judge and ou athletic dept)
This is in addition to all of the numerous other players with felony arrests for violence and drug dealing and gun possessions, etc. they've put up with as well...

Well sorry, but I don't base what I can or cannot do in my life based on what Scholz says.

Well feel free then, you be the arbiter of what's moral. That's rich coming from a $ooner. I'll next look for Charles Manson to tell me how bad murder is or Donald Trump to make fun of someone's combover.

Well, that is pretty bad. Maybe they get a 3rd prize trophy. But Penn State and Baylor still have them beat, with Penn State being the all time worst. Even the Baylor fan base can look down on Penn State, as raping a child and covering it up is worse than anything else in my book.

Yeah, rape is the worst. The repeated instances of violence against women at Wifebeater U aren't far behind though.

The glaring thing I see in his post though, is he chalks up every one of those instances as "OK with Sooner fans". That really proves what a joke his jaded opinion is on those situations, and he literally just lives in his own deluded version of "reality according to Scholz". I will say as a FACT, that several of those situations the OU fanbase was MASSIVELY divided as to whether Bob was in the right or wrong in doing what he did. There were some epic battles over on Soonerscoop during those events between factions of OU fans who supported Bob allowing them on the team, and the faction that was utterly opposed and wanted the players gone. But don't tell Scholz...it will undermine his attempt to label all OU fans as being unethical and immoral.

I don't follow OU that closely. Did the guys Scholz mentioned continue to play after these events happened? I know DBG never played, and Mixon sat out a year (he should have been gone), but no clue on the other 2 guys. If these guys continued with the team, that is pretty poor.
I don't think the average fan can do much to protest thuggery, other than not spending money until things are in line with what you think is ok. That won't be the same for everyone. Weed, dui, shoplifting etc. are bad, but apparently I can live with it. People who hurt women or children are over the line in my opinion. If someone continues buying tickets, they are basically saying what Is happening is worth it.

Ya DGB never played, and I'm almost positive Chaisson ended up leaving school without getting on the field. But you're right, it's piss poor. Now if those guys can learn from what they did and move on with their lives, then that's great and I hope that happens. But I'm not one to want them wearing an OU uniform cuz of the perception it brings. It's just in poor taste. But Bob Stoops is making those decisions, not the OU fanbase. And it won't deter me from being a fan of OU football because there are still a ton of kids on the roster that work their butts off to play football who did NOT do things like those players listed above.
