Thanks for the update. Holland from 247 tweeted NMMPILA which standds fo rNo More Parties In LA, a Kanye song. Getcha popcorn ready!

He enrolled in school 2 weeks ago. I wonder if he has to transfer? Wild west in recruiting.

Trojan boards are saying Bru is trying to get out of his commitment citing Kingsbury’s departure.

He didn't sign a letter yet.

There is a window for him to sign early he didn't sign in that window so He can't actually sign his LOI until the next signing session. All he signed was for financial aid, there is nothing binding him to USC. If he wants out of USC all he has to do is drop his classes and leave.

Here is the way I see it.

Early signing period is 3 or 4 days. Once an athlete signs he is with that school and no other school can recruit him. Bru didn't sign in that early period because he announced at his all-star game. That was why the Texas coaches kept recruiting him. He did however enroll and was taking classes. At the very least that makes him a walk on. In essence he is more like Patrick Mahomes was at Tech. Now if he decides to sign in February He is likely going to have to sit out a year.as of right now I'm thinking he can drop classes and leave and the SC coaches don't have a thing they can do about it.

I don't remember how the Mahomes situation with Tech turned out but I'm pretty sure he was eligible to immediately play.

Son of Wasatch...I'm from the USC site...pages of posts regarding this situation as you might imagine. What I'm hearing is that he did sign an LOI. Still, if true, that doesn't mean he can't leave -

Bottom line, we're hearing both stories...the truth should be clear in the next day or so. Too much drama if you ask me.

By the way, congrats on your season and the bowl win over Georgia.

How could he sign? The early signing period was from Dec 19 to Dec 21. If he signed would have had to do so at that time. We know for a fact that if Texas was still recruiting him after he signs then this is a clear violation, and Texas was recruiting him right up until the day before he announced.

You don't have to sign to be an early enrollment student, all they do is get him some financial aid and when he signs he gets his scholarship money. This is the way early enrollment took place before there was the early signing perior.

So he either caused a recruiting violation by signing a LOI and allowing Texas to think he still had not made a decision or he is not signed until February.

All good points! Like I said, conflicting stories...we'll find out soon enough. Someone is going to get a real baller.

Whether or not Bru signed an LOI in advance, back in December, is completely irrelevant at this stage. The fact of that matter is that he enrolled, has been attending classes, and is officially on an athletic scholarship at USC. If he decides now that he wants out and transfers, he's subject to all of the same transfer rules (sit out a year, etc.) as anyone else.

If he hasn't signed a LOI, how can he be on scholarship?

The story at the time was he signed but USC wouldn't announce his LOI so he could announce his decision at the All-American game.

Kingsbury was gone within 5 days of Bru's announcement at the All-American game.

I would be shocked if he was paying for this semester out of pocket. Maybe his parents were ok paying for a semester of private school. Maybe they will get a partial refund. This entire deal will be educational on what the rules are, as they seem pretty ad hoc.

I think you can get out of sitting out a year if you fight it. Duvernay and Hudson did not have to sit a year when they transferred from Baylor.

Actually he is considered a walk on until he signs his LOI. So it again goes back to the idea if he signed or not. This is the way it has been for early enrollment since before the early signing period. The whole reason for the early signing period was to close the gap for early enrollment.

Worst case scenario: he has to wait until 2020 to play.

Not ideal for anyone, but does he lose a year of eligibility? Can he train under Yancy?

They're currently between the "Rankings don't mean anything...", and "The sips paid off people to make them look better...", phases

ahhh....earlier this morning they were still in the "McCoy's not SEC ready" phase....
