Blow U is a disgrace to college athletics

Where in this thread am I "rescuing" BW??

Well you're not now. You would have if i wouldn't have mentioned it first.

BTW, the only posts I liked were from Horns that directly challenged our "village idiot". In no way did I "like" the others, but I knew where I was when I clicked on the site. I expected what I was about to read.

So trying to speak intelligently about what I would or would not have done?? And you're calling others idiots?? LOL

C'mon don't hold back...go ahead and mention Plaino as part of the current "trio" that's banned. I mean I know how he is your father figure and all.

Darn.....You got my goat and I'm going to respond. Plainosooner did get the axe. Plaino's problem was he just couldn't stay off the bait your brothers threw out. He's twice the poster you are. Yeah, he posted about all Sooner sports and has a memory like an elephant when it comes to Sooner football. Your brothers took him down, but he'll be back.

Now, don't you have a bridge or something to jump off of, Billy Ray McAlester?.............

C'mon man...don't be jealous that I even have the physical capability to jump off a bridge if I wanted to...I mean you being stuck in that wheelchair in front of your computer screen all day. Damn...now it's clear why you always come off as a miserable human being. LOL

Why are you $ooner girls having your slap fight over here?
Well ya know...it's just OU board drama spilling out over here. We are on lockdown over on our home board, so I guess some of the built up tension is getting unleashed over here. Sorry a thread on ya'lls board is getting watered down with OU "reality show" drama man.

...congrats_98.6% of the drama is now on you BillyRay. Try the Slippery Rock site, I'm sure they'd be thrilled.

By the way, that bridge is located in Georgia.

Yeah, you're a typical dishonest $ooner. One of you said FU to the OP. One guy said he was crazy( you agreed). One guy said he had the Zika virus (you agreed). One guy ragged on Charlie Strong. You said we were intensely jealous. Come to think of it, you have the bloodiest vagina.
Nice to see everyone getting along, haha

Texas has the most recent National Championship. That and we have scoreboard on ou right now. Burns doesn't it? Your panties are all wadded up that is for sure barkingbitch.

But, but, but.....OU has the most recent bowl loss and the most recent NCAA tourney blowout they are bragging about here.

Their platform on UT fan site isn't about their wins....its about their big losses. Get it?

Some trivia.

In 1958 we beat the sooners 15-14 -- only sooner loss that season.

After the game Bud Wilkinson told DKR: "I've paid for the best players (white & black) in the nation and get beat by a left-handed Mexican"

From what I remember reading DKR called a halfback pass that resulted in a touchdown. That halfback was Rene Ramirez.

Yes...it was documented in one of the books regarding Longhorn trivia. It wasn't relegated to sooners...involved several teams and Longhorn players.

The book had several classic incidents that there were hilarious...like actions of our players pulling laughable stunts. ie. we had three brothers that were just lethal...they were classic, meaner than rattle snakes. Then there's Bradley who did his fare share of stirring things up. Several more, can't recall all only a few.

Best book my wife purchased about 12yrs ago. She purchased three that day...she had her rare moments.

Wish I still had it, vanished when we got a divorce. I'll do some research and see if I can find it...

Just thought of those brothers that would take on the devil...pretty sure it was Ernie Coy & bro's.

Both Ernie & Ted played in the NFL...really think there was another brother.

So much for these brothers -- it wears me out trying about'em.

Bottom line is OU football has always been and will continue to be just a notch above Texas. That ends up driving a feeling of jealousy from many Longhorn fans that seem endlessly infatuated with anything having to do with OU. Scholz is a geat example. He knows Texas is inferior so he goes off on these completely irrelevant rants and spends days on end talking about OU. He dreams about Texas being something they never can be. I think it may be similar to the Alabama/Auburn rivalry. Auburn has a nice program and every once in a while they are pretty darn good. However, everyone knows Bama is just a better program year in and year out and that is just the way it is.

So you have returned to the board. I find this reply funny coming from someone who has shown that he knows absolutely nothing when it comes to fb. You're clueless about the game itself, strategy, even the names of the Oklahoma players. Never was this more apparent when we beat OK last year. You were so ignorant that you thought that your team had no weaknesses whatsoever. If you had said something like that to Bob Stoops he'd have laughed in your face. All of your ignorant trash talking on this board and yet you came on here on the day of the game calling us arrogant punks. This coming from someone so ignorant who had one time had a Barney Fife avatar.

It's so easy to come on a message board talking trash, hiding behind a name. Oh and don't forget to send Brent Venables a birthday card.

My longhorn breathren will get mad at me for saying this but I don't dislike Bob Stoops. Lord knows he's a lot harder to hate than Barry Switzer. I'm going to be honest about how I feel here. It's not Stoops fault that he had a lot more competitive savvy than Mack Brown. Mack lost four games to Stoops by at least 38 points and I'm still pissed about that. That should have never happened, not even once were they that much better than us, we had two much talent to lose like that. I mean Stoops w/l record in bowl games was a lot worse than Mack's, which infuriates me even more when it comes to those losses. I mean they lost to a former junior college on national tv. On a statue of liberty play. Look, I'm not a win at all costs, we have to win every year kind of guy. But MB squandered to many opportunities while he was here and Stoops didn't.

Otoh, Barry Switzer was a disgrace to college fb, and college athletics as a whole. It would take a million paragraphs to state the things he did on and off the field. I will say this while he did win 3 nc's on two of them Oklahoma was on probation. For all his nc's, AA, Heisman, and Lombardi awards his players won while he was there there are still a lot of respected college fb people who still question whether he was a great coach and he has only himself to blame for that. But mea culpa has never been and never will be Barry Switzer's way. Ever. The best way to describe him in as few words as possible. During his time as coach the tv show Dallas was very popular. Skip Bayless called Barry Switzer the J R Ewing of the RRR. And that says it all.

I want to be honest I don't college hoops the way I used to. But in the 80's I did and back then Oklahoma had a high profile program. Their coach, Billy Tubbs (remember him?), was an even bigger ***hole than Switzer and believe me that's saying a lot. In 1988 they went to the National championship game against Kansas. I don't have an opinion one way or the other about KS, but that night I was rock, chalk, Jayhawk all night long and KS won in a thriller. Also his players were just as classless as Switzer's. Because I don't follow the college I don't have an opinion about Lon Kreuger. I wrote that I had sympathy for their players against Villanova. When the other team is shooting the ball its guaranteed to take the life of of you.

Me and one of my UT buddies at work have talked about this very thing on many occasions. And I 100% agree that the talent gap between those early Stoops teams and Macks team was NOT indicative of what the final scores were in many of those games. Those UT teams were full of NFL caliber talent. I think back then Bob simply had a staff that was MUCH better at motivating and preparing their players for games and to play with a chip on their shoulder than Mack was.

But fast forward to today...and it seems the roles have been reversed. Bob seems to be the one that has trouble getting the OU players up for the RRR games these days, and Strong has his teams BY FAR more prepared and motivated. This past years RRR game was cleat cut. UT whipped OUs ass from start to finish. And the 2014 game I'm still surprised that OU ended up winning that game. OU fans are damn lucky that Charlie Strong isn't 2-0 against OU right now. And even luckier that OU isn't in a 3 game losing streak cuz Mack had his final UT team BY FAR more motivated, prepared and playing with more of a chip on their shoulder against OU than Bob did his team. I still have nightmares about Case Frikin McCoy looking like John Elway that game. That was embarrassing watching that game that year....

I'm hoping Bob completely redoing his staff the last handful of years will result in OU coming into the RRR a bit more motivated than the last few seasons.

For reasons that no one can explain the RRR has always run in cycles, been that way for 70 years. The only thing I can think of is that the losing team hits the recruiting trail even harder to remedy this. As far as 2013 and last year goes I was pleasantly wrong, I thought we were going to get killed. Oklahoma has won only one outright Big XII in the last five years and Texas hasn't won any of course Oklahoma has more talent. But neither team has recruited the kind of defensive talent they used to. OK has not signed players like Tommie Harris or Curtis McCoy and Texas hasn't signed players like Derrick Johnson or Brian Orakpo and that's on the coaches. You know if someone can recruit and put a nc caliber defense on the field the Big XII would be theirs for the taking every year. I'm talking about Baylor, Oklahoma, or TCU maybe us if we can put a good qb on the field.

One more thing. As far as your new coaching staff goes Lincoln Riley is a star in the making. He's young , 32, and he will be somebody's hc soon. If he can find someone to replace Sterling Shepard they will be set at the skill positions. But I'm talking about really replacing SS, he was a real difference maker. The big question about Oklahoma' s offense is Baker Mayfield's mental health. Two concussions 40 days apart is even more serious than normal. If he has another I done see how he can't give up fb no dr will clear him. And he plays with the kind of reckless abandon that makes him even susceptible to concussions. If that happens replacing him will be the key to Oklahoma'season.

Oh my UT buddies in 2013 didn't even want to talk about the RRR going into that game. They all felt the same way thinking UT was gonna get rolled. But I have to give them credit though. After UT smoked OU in that game, they were all pretty cool about it. They didn't dog on me too much cuz they knew they were admitting defeat even before the game was played.

Now I don't keep up with ya'lls recruiting all that much. But you talking about defensive talent reminds me of a chat I had with another UT buddy just the other day. He posts over on yalls pay site on here. Like you said, recent years OU or UT hasn't been signing the defensive beasts like we did years ago. But he was going on and on about ya'lls defensive recruiting the last few years or so. He said UT is primed to have some hellacious defenses in coming years. So if UT can come up with a QB to run ya'lls offense, then matched with the defenses yall have coming up, UT could be, in his words, "like a damn 20ft Anaconda" Lol :D

You're right about Mayfield. 2 head dings back to back like that is pretty concerning going forward. I really hope it doesn't turn out to be another David Ash type situation where he gets another ding and then has to think about giving up football for the betterment of his future health. But if he goes down, then likely OU will have to use a true freshman to ride out the rest of the season. It wouldn't surprise me if the coaches haven't already had a chat with him about dialing it back a bit in how reckless he plays. But hell...that's what made him as great as he was last year!! Without that, I don't think he would be as effective. So what gives ya know...

Silly UT fan. Stoops doesn't care about any of that concussion garbage. Can he win games and fit a helmet on his head and is currently not incarcerated? Put him in the game.
