Bowl Season Picks

Here are some of the matchups I think are fairly interesting. Something of note, there has been some. bowls cancelled to covid BS. Fenway bowl w/ Virginia/SMU (Virginia fault), Military Bowl w/ ECU/BC (BC's fault), Easy Post Hawaii Bowl w/ Hawaii/Memphis (Hawaii's fault). The Bowl Season executive director Nick Carparelli is right on the money, but it appeared he made a statement and the deplatforming, censoring and compliance Nazi's got to him. See the quote below:

Nick Carparelli, the executive director of bowl season, tweeted Sunday that college football's COVID-19 protocols that were developed last year "are outdated and need to be adjusted immediately! We are causing more problems than there need to be."
Carparelli later deleted the tweet, but told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg: "Health and safety will always be the most important concern. However, I think the frustrating part is while the virus has evolved and weakened, the protocols in college athletics have not changed. There are other sports organizations, most notably the NFL, that have evolved and are functioning just fine."

Anyway, back to the games:

Auburn (6-6) -2,5 vs Houston (11-2): Ticketsmarter Bowl Tues 12/28 I'll take UH

Miss St (7-5) -9.5 vs Texas Tech (6-6): Liberty Bowl Tues 12/28 I'll Take Miss St. easy. Tech showed nothing this year

WVU (6-6) vs Minnesota (8-4) -5: Guaranteed Rate Bowl Tues 12/28 Minnesota had some decent wins. I'll take them

Clemson (9-3) -1.5 vs Iowa State (7-5): Cheez It Bowl Wed 12/29. I'll take ISU in an upset. It would be a great win for Campbell

Oregon (10-3) vs gooner (10-2) -4.5: Valero Alamo Bowl Wed 12/29 I'll take gooner. Both lost HCs, but I think the loss of Cristobal is a bigger disruptor

Pitt (11-2) vs Michigan State (10-2) -2.5: Chick Fil A Peach Bowl Thurs 12/30 I'll take Pitt in a mild upset

Washington State (7-5) vs Miami (7-5) Even: Sun Bowl Friday 12/31. Miami, I guess.

Cincinnati (13-0) vs Alabama (12-1) -13.5: Cotton Bowl Friday 12/31. Bama easy

Georgia (12-1) -7.5 vs Michigan (12-1): Orange Bowl Friday 12/31 Georgia easy

Penn St (7-5) -1 vs Arkie (8-4) : Outback Bowl Sat Jan 1. I'll take Penn St

Okie State (11-2) vs Notre Dame (11-1) -1.5: Fiesta Bowl Sat Jan 1. I think Okie Lite wins solidly

Utah (10-3) vs Ohio State (10-2) -6.5: Rose Bowl Sat Jan 1. Tough call. I'll take Ohio St only because they have played a tougher schedule

Baylor (11-2) vs Ole Miss (10-2) -1: Sugar Bowl Sat Jan 1. Baylor in a solid win

LSU (6-6) vs KSU (7-5) -3.5: Texas Bowl Tues Jan 4. I'll take KSU

I got them beating Georgia. While I think Georgia's defense was really good, I think their defensive numbers were a little over inflated from a pretty weak schedule they played.
 
SEC just dropped to 0-3. Weak sauce.

HOWEVER - my end of the year gift to this board.

Mississippi State is a 10.5 point favorite over Texas Tech. I am betting my entire net worth that Leach, who is not above running it up when he's unmotivated, won't take this opportunity to win by 40!. His breakup with Tech was bitter - he hates Tech - and Tech gave up 70 to a team quarterbacked by Casey Thompson. I'm guessing 59-17. Then Leach will make his halftime adjustments!

Kind of humorous. Boise backs out of Arizona Bowl leaving C Michigam at the alter. So,CMichigan will be bussed from Tuscon to El Paso (6hrs) and play against Washington state on Friday in the Sun Bowl (Miami backed out yesterday. They were both the visiting team and so C Michigan is fedexing there dark jerseys to El Paso. Some quick maneuvering. Sun Bowl doesn't have the best bowls of course, but, it is a huge deal for this community.

Put money on a game, then you can see with absolute clarity — Tech is the best team in the country.

How did this Mississippi State team beat A&M? It’s almost as if the SEC is overrated like I have said numerous times.
 
Minnesota beats WVa 18-6 last night. I haven't been a PJ Fleck fan, but he is putting together a string of decent seasons for Minnesota. Minnesota isn't the easiest place to win consistently plus, he is winning his bowl games. I am not saying he is ready for the majors or anything like that, but we'll see how he does the next couple of seasons. He is only 41.

I'm not a fan of PJ Fleck and his gimmicky, rah-rah nonsense. 8-4 is the ceiling at Minnesota with him.

I agree with you, but I am just thinking that if he continues even at 8-4 consistently at a place like Minnesota, then I could be wrong about him. Time will tell, I guess

Agree. He's got a good gig there in Minnesota. They're happy with 8-4 and the expectations are low. He's not expected to make the CFP there and they're tickled to death with a taxslayer type of bowl.

DJ Uiagalelei is just awful. Dabo has got to move on from him. I'm definitely pulling for ISU.
 
I have never understood the Matt Campbell hype. I damn sure never understood his name being thrown out for NFL jobs. They were a top 10 preseason team and now they are on the brink of a 7-6 season.

And you don't want to have to possibly go with a true freshman if you're Clemson, but I'm not sure what other choices that they have. DJ is a five-star bust. I get being patient and sticking with your guy and not showing that you give up on a big-time recruit like him, but geez, how much more do you need to see from this guy? He sucks.
 
Three and out for OU. Good start. Would love to see 'ol "big game Bob" lose another bowl game.
