Cant spell Bowl LOss U without OU...surprised at another big game flop?

Bell doesn’t “troll” he just compliments/backhanded criticizes. He hides his snide remarks behind with complimentary question remarks.
Tonight’s game is really good. Lots of hard hitting, good coaching. Hoping we get there soon.

I'm looking at this FB and I'm seeing teams with lots of 4 and 5* talents and how well developed they are by their coaching staffs. And I think why can't we hire coaches that can do that?

Oh and Clemson just retook the lead. Went 95 yards like it was nothing.

I think Ohio state is a little more talented than Clemson. But Clemson seems to just expect to win. Great game. Either will give LSU a much better game than today's massacre, I hope.

I'm not envious of Trevor Lawrence's talent.

I'm not envious of Trevor Lawrence's athleticism.

What I am envious of Trevor Lawrence is his hair. Why couldn't I have had hair like that when I was his age?

We don't hire coaches unless they already have head coaching experience. 3 of the 4 coaches in the CFP did not have prior head coaching experience. School that have coaches we would not consider:

LSU
Ohio State
ou
Clemson
Georgia
Utah
Oregon

But why would you take away the passes he caught?
I'm guessing he's saying: You need to have more than just one superstar receiver to compete in the playoff, and maybe reminding you Sooners that you probably won't have CeeDee any longer.

We have several very capable explosive receivers, Rambo, Wease, Haselton who all played a big part when Lamb was out against Baylor. Our problem isn’t that we need more receivers our problem is that we need a qb that goes through his reads. I believe Rattler will fit that bill

I know but the other thing is the asst coaches on those playoff teams staffs. Belldozer will never admit this but the biggest mistake Stoops ever made was firing Brent Vennables. But not just Vennables look at how great those players became after a few years at Clemson same goes with tOSU. We have got to find the same kind of coaching staff.

Hindsight is always 20/20. USC, WVU,BSU were some Venables horrible bowl game loses. He's had some good DLine play at Clemson which helps everything. He's recruiting better there than he was at OU I guess. Regardless, at the time he needed to go and I don't think you'll find many sooner fans saying otherwise.

However
Vennables went to Clemson after Dabo fired his dc for losing 70/33 to WV in the Orange Bowl. I his 3rd year Clemson got blown out by FSU on national tv it was the year Winston won the Heisman. But the next year Clemson had the best d in the country. Btw they humiliated OK in the Orlando Bowl. In other words Dabo stayed with BV and let him build a defense.

That was the year RG3 won the Heisman. He won it with an incredible game against OK. It was late in the season and it had a dramatic ending. OK was on the way to playing AL for the NC. Didn't happen and Stoops blamed it on BV and the secondary coach. Mike Stoops was fired by AZ and Stoops thought it would be better if he brought his brother back to OK.

And besides all that BV developed a lot of good players while he was at OK. As far as bowl games go Stoops had a mediocre record in bowl games. He set the tone for the games and that responsibility was on him.

Just to clarify. You guys will be better once you get a new QB?

Rattler has not impressed me. I admit I don't have a 100% never fail talent meter in my head--- but Rattler has a long way to go before he actually impresses me.

All I'm going to say.

Please keep this in mind about Lincoln Riley. In the 3 years he's been OK's hc all of his qbs have been transfers. We'll see how good he is when he has to develop a qb from the start. Not some 5* qbs who had at least a couple of years in the college game. We'll see.

I was really impressed with how Clemson held it together after OSU came out and punched them in the mouth. They were being beaten soundly in all phases of the game early, and yet they didn't panic.

Meanwhile Day couldn't get over the targeting call and was whining about it still at halftime. As a coach you have to get over that stuff and move on.

CeeDee is the only receiver who scared me, whom I knew would have a great day in the RRS. Maybe that's a matter of my own ignorance, but I doubt Rattler--or whoever transfers in next--will have Mr. Lamb to throw to next season.

ou's 2019 recruiting class had 2 5-Star and 1 4-Star WR (per 247). Their WR group is oozing talent. Evidently, their "problem" has been the incompetence of their QB.

You know. The only guy in the history of their program to ever play in the actual CFP championship game (he did it 3 times). The guy that plays the QB position. Did you know that ou's coach has made a career out of turning bench warmer QB's into Heisman trophy winners.

This thread is awesome. Is there anyway we can have this pinned to the top of the board.

NOBODY (troll) on this board should ever question my credibility as a poster, again.

And what will it take for your team to get better? I mean you just gutted you OC and DC in just the 3rd year who’s next?

1. Anyone that reads this thread and knows anything about your posting history will know that you don't have a ounce of credibility here.

2. You are either incompetent or a troll.

3. Why are you changing the subject? This isn't about the 50 million things that we have to fix.

4. Evidently, the "QB whisperer" isn't smart enough to identify the correct QB to play (according to you)
or correct his most glaring deficiency as a QB (according to you)

5. ou is competent QB play from the CFP championship game. (according to you).

The defense may be gutted, but the offense won't see huge changes (in philosophy/style) in my opinion. I expect Sam and the wide receivers to be better coached, but overall, it will be a lot of the same style. It won't be as drastic many think.

Apparently you never watched Hurts at Bama, if you did you wouldn’t make the idiotic comments you just posted. Bama didn’t make the playoffs because of Hurts prowess as a qb they made it in spite of him and playing good defense. Riley got what he needed out of Hurts but Hurts just isn’t a good passer, no secret to anyone but apparently you.

We have talented receivers just need a qb that throws it around more, not really hard to comprehend for most folks but you’re special, so.....

And nobody said that’s the only issue, in one year Grinch had our defense playing better. I’ve never said our D is good, said it’s improved and I think it’ll get better

Evidently the QB whisperer can't coach his QB how to go through his route progressions.
Bingo sparky, you’re finally getting it. If Riley can’t, who can? The best Riley could do for him was a Heisman runner up. Another miserably failed post for you=)roll

As we move into 2020 I would hope you would take a few minutes to reflect on your poorly thought out posts and do us all a favor by posting more responsibly. Thanks.

Yeah. Hurts had nothing to do with Alabama championship game appearances. Remind me how they did without him.

Seriously. You are going to make a statement like that and want to question someone mental acumen.

I may be special, but even I know that you have been riding Hurts dick all year and now you want to take shots at him. Without Hurts, you wouldn't be in the playoff.

If Jalen hurts couldn't go through route progressions, he wouldn't be the starting QB at ou.
The fact that you think that is true is another example that your grasp of football is not very good.

I can assure you that you will be the only one on this board defending Hurts and his ability to diagnose coverages and go through his progressions. I saw him step up in the pocket 1 time against LSU the rest of the time it was 1 read and bailing out to the left or right prematurely.
