Ok Clob.....this year It is up to you and you alone to get us the down and dirty (and I dont mean a rehash of the story of you and the Hungarian girl)...on what in hell is going on in Spring football. You have access and a spy's mentality. I fully expect a running report on what is going on. Last year you went, you saw, you reported and you didnt pull any punches....in other words, a solid job.

We have a totally new offense going in and it would be nice to know if it has a chance to work. We need to know if indeed the OL IS improved as promised. We need to know if the off season program shows off in improved body shape. We need to know if we are going to have a QB that looks better than Case McCoy.....We need to know a hell of a lot and you are in position to deliver the goods. You can do this without giving away secret crap because you know all about all that.

Ok....now just close your office, forget Africa, stay sober...(ok, sorry,,,got carried away) and give us the goods!

OK...I made a mistake!...I have received 3 death threats, a few irate phone calls and found a dead chicken on my step.

I am forced to retract and say I was wrong ......go ahead and rehash the story about the Hungarian girl if you want...I dont want to have to change my phone number.

Well, crap....Clob must be in Africa after all. Well....from what I have read, Warren is at 255 and has no fat whatever....Foreman is at 238....Swoopes, who looked the best after the first day is at 255 or so. That could give a whole new meaning to the term "pounding the rock"

Shack was working at center and didnt embarass himself. The offense is working so up tempo that the defense does not believe it is a realistic scenario

On the other hand....all the video showing how good Collin Johnson looked also showed the qb's dont seem to be able to hit a barn.....small sample size I hope. ....Sorry Metcalf...seems Kai didnt get any snaps in the regular practice.....Shane looks small and thin...Heard is bulked up, but not making good decisions

that will have to do until someone who really knows something steps up and puts it on here.

Dallas News reported that Warren weighs 255. Is he fat, or a beast? At the end of last year, he was a stud. If that is muscle, he is going to be a star. If not - hey, Chris Whaley was a serviceable DT.

And Lamarr Houston and Henry Melton became stud DTs. Although it sounds like he's added mostly muscle. If he hasn't lost his speed, holy crap. He's gonna be trouble.

I would worry about conditioning at that weight. Even if its muscle he has to carry around that much extra weight and it takes more energy to get that weight moving at the same speed. I hope he drops into the low 240s as they begin to do more position specific speed and conditioning work.

Clob...glad to hear you havnt been salted away. I know you will be most valuable to us later when the real work is actually going on. I just wanted you to be ready.

and what the hell is this "busy" nonsense?....nothing else you might be doing could possibly be more important than this.

yeah....I suspect coach "August" will melt some of that away muscle or not!

Easy killers. I've just been a little busy. I'm going to wait a few practices until they put the pads on. Shirt and shorts won't show us sh!t. Need to see what they look like when they are going at it. Fear not, I shall get some nuggets.
You had us in panic mode clob! Thanks for any info

OK swVA....I picked this up from our inside source.....rediculous int by Haynes

Heck of a play except for the fact that the pass was terribly underthrown, the receiver did a horrible job adjusting to the ball and GDDH was very slow getting to the receiver. If that pass was not underthrown that is a touchdown because GDDH let the receiver get behind him.

Other than that, it was an amazing interception.

actually, I disagree. The pass was right on the money. You can see the receiver extend his arms while in full stride to catch it. Had the ball not been stopped, it was 6

What can you tell me about our new starters at rg and center?
And what is Kent Perkins natural position?
He's been he a year now do you think this ox Nickerson can play? A lot of ol that big don't have the footwork to play.
Is it too early to see how much change coach Mattox has brought to the ol?

Perkins is a natural guard and a drive blocker, his best position is probably right guard as most teams tend to run right. If we can find a legit right tackle (crossing fingers), then he should be the right guard.

Man mountain Nickelson is he guy I'm hoping pulls it all together and becomes the right tackle. If not I think Buck Major has a legit shot at being the man. Center is a little tougher to pin down as I haven't see too much news on that position. My guess is that it will be between Alex Anderson, Brandon Hodges, and Terrell Cuney. We should learn a lot more about that position as spring practice progresses.

The Oline has the talent now, along with running back it is the strongest position on the offense. There is still room to grow so hopefully we will see these guys become what Texas needs them to be.

I think they worked Shakleford at center on Monday. They were off yesterday,so who knows?

In fact, it seems we are good at RB....the Oline is developing talent and we have a chance to be very very good at WR....If we didnt have that pesky problem trying to find a QB we would be set on offense.

No offense, but is Kent Perkins an All-American? Or does he play along side any? Does he even know any?

I'm not sure he's the one I take at full value. Kind of like MM. :)

I think he is comparing him to the two Freshmen All Americans on the OL last year.

So now you have to be an All American...play alongside one.....or know one to be able to spot one? Wow. The team being assembled in Austin has you worried and you are trying to find anything to make yourself feel better. Anybody that has ever played any sport can tell the ones who are great or going to be great.....not rocket surgery.
