Coaches on the HOT seat

This will be Strong's first season that he actually produces tangible hope. So far it's just been a lot of stars on signing day and a lot of WTF on the offense, and even some WTF on defense. Even with only 7 or 8 wins he still has something tangible in a bright young QB, so he's not going anywhere. Barring some monumental cluster %#&@ this won't be a losing season.

The ND win doesn't prove Strong is the guy, but it definitely turned off the burners for a bit.
The win against ND alone doesn't prove he's the guy. But wins against OU and Baylor last year along with the ND win show he can get the team ready for big games. Hopefully with the increased talent level on the field we can avoid some of the let downs last year

Hilarious. The detractors have gone from Strong will be luck to be any better than 4-8 to there are only a 2-3 teams, on the schedule, that can beat Texas in a two week span.

Fire up the moving goal post gif.
I was actually saying good things about the tragectory of your program. Was trying to be complementary. I felt before the season and now that Strong needed 8 wins to be safe. I just feel way more confident that he'll get it. I never thought or said you would only win 4 games, I thought 8 before the season.
I actually think he will do better than that. Only goalposts I moved was that I didn't think you would beat ND, and your freshman QB is better than I expected.
How many loses do you see?

I agree and disagree. I think he's filling the rosters with a lot of talent, but he's had to deviate from the Louisville blueprint a lot on the offensive side of the ball.
I'll buy the deviate, but with that being said, I think he is going to be much more successful with what he has put together.

He needs to put it all together for a season or two at Texas before I crown him. Beating OU and Baylor one year while losing 7 is never a positive tradeoff.

As a HC, he won a couple of conference titles and a BCS bowl game at Louisville. As a DC, he won 2 national titles at Florida. Your coach hasn't done any of that. Strong at least has some skins on the wall.

Shhhh logic is scary..... and now he will need to clarify himself to make his opinion fit into his reality..... dont taunt the aggys with things like this, then they wont ever leave... lol

Exactly and that's the point I've made numerous times. I believe Strong and Watson stumbled upon the genie in the bottle at Louisville with Bridgewater and it was really emphasized when he got to UT. He's had to change his whole philosophy on offense than when he was at Louisville.

Stoops teams suck it up without good QB play, it's not rocket science. No value to the equation, Watson wouldn't have looked near as bad with an actual QB.

We needed an f'n QB

Time will tell. You look good in two games. You will boat race KU and ISU. I think you beat K-State probably also, and probably Cal. I think everyone else on your schedule could beat you on any given day. They won't all do it, but it will all hinge on how your young players (and coaches) respond to adversity when it comes. I hope we either blow up huge and go 4-8 or win 11 or 12 games. 7-5 purgatory sucks.

Stoops has changed his offense numerous times but once again you're not intelligent/honest enough to apply equal logic to your coach.

I would like to see yall go 4-8 just so we can listen to the conspiracy theories that come charging out of b/cs on why it is Texas fault aggy sucks yet again.....i mean hell your fan base was rabidly livid that Texas beat ND and was trying to find anyway to turn that W into a L for us.... I can only imagine how much worse it would be with a 4-8 record for you guys... especially when we win 10+ the CC and a good bowl game - if not the CFP. ;)

Yes he has over the course of 17 years but not 3 times in the first 3 years, that's the difference Scholz, hope you can grasp that. As I said, at this point UT has so much invested they are in a position to ride it out. Buechele may be the one that helps him turn the corner.

So when Stoops flamed out with that terrible OC hire of Heupel and was forced to bring in Riley to save his bacon (forced by everyone which is widely known), that proves that he was a terrible coach and has no idea what he's doing, right? Do you see how retarded your weak insults are? Of course you don't.

What? Huepel's record as OC was this, including bowl games:12-2, 10-3, 10-3, 11-2, 8-5. That, Scholz, is not 6-6 and 6-6 or anywhere near it. Heupel got stale and then capped off by that loss to Clemson in the Bowl game. Did you see what I typed there? BOWL GAME. See even though OU made a bowl game, Stoops still made the changes necessary. So, no, I think Stoops was proactive and no, the two situations are nowhere near the same. Nice try though=)roll

Sure. He wasn't forced to make that change at all. You're so honest per usual. =)roll

Jones, though, plateaued after his sophomore season—coinciding with Heupel’s move to offensive coordinator. Jones passing yardage went down in each of his final three seasons in Norman. His interception numbers stayed up, going from 12 in 2010 to 15 in 2011 and 11 in 2012.

Only a terrible HC would hire such a spare at OC and have to be rescued by another OC.

Um, you left out the part about him coaching Bradford to the Heisman Trophy and I posted Huepel's record as OC above. Pesky facts=)rollI'm sorry Scholz but there is no comparison here and I'm not going to get into a back and forth again so just let it go.

Of course you're not. You can't be objective. One HC hires a an OC to make his offense go, he's being "proactive". The other does it, he's being told what to do and doesn't have a clue. Very honest of you. You're an honest, moral person.

And Heupel did some things, but he was ultimately FIRED for not getting it done in big games. Something Bob doesn't know how to do either. So he had to hire Riley to save him. Because he's clueless on the national stage.

And if I'm wrong and Stoops is such a great coach, why didn't he just coach up one of his former players? Why'd he have to fire Heupel and have someone else bring in a totally different offense, hmm? Bob doesn't know what he's doing?

If you have watched Texas you know were moving up from a door mat.We have a Qb that can throw the football downfield in an up tempo offense which is something Texas fans has not seen in awhile.Hey Big 12,were coming to play this year!!! Strong wants to stay At Texas.

Here is the deal about Texas. All the pieces are in place to have a 2005 USC level offense. No Joke, No Hyperbole, No Myopia.

Straight up truth

Our oline is still getting their feet under them, but by the end of this year barring injuries this will be the most dominate line in the conference. By next year it will be the best in the nation.

Same can be said of our receiving Corp. These guys are damn good now, next year they will be on a whole other level.

Our running game this year is scary good, if we can keep Forman for his senior year, I expect us to dominate on the ground.

All the pieces were in place, we just needed a QB to run it.

Now we have SB.

I think you guys have a legit chance to make the playoffs, likely one and done. But this seems like a little much.

That is exactly about what I'm thinking, when I said 2005 USC, I should have been more clear. Next year we have that chance. Everything is in place. This year was are great, once we find ourselves. Not sure when it is going to happen. But to your point. We are not in the same league as FSU, or Bama, or Clemson, but we aren't far away. Next year, we will be right there.

We aren't far off, but I was referring to what our offense will possibly look like next year. A lot can change, but like I said, the pieces are in place.

Drunk off the Kool Aid my friend.
