Devin Duvernay picks Horns!!

I claim faceplant on the whole network.
Since you admit Texas makes a ton of money on the deal, your claim that it's a faceplant on the Longhorn website is pretty retarded, no? It's for Texas fans btw. Wouldn't expect you to enjoy the programming, twelve toe.

And its existence hurts the conference as a whole.
Yeah, you're a liar.

And yes btw, you're still crying and bleeding all over this website after faceplanting on Duvernay.=)roll

You don't see ou taking a step back? laughable. Do you think ALL the good teams that ou will play this year will have 2nd and 3rd string QBs like last year?

Why is that laughable? They return most of the best players from a playoff team. No, i dont think all the good teams they play will have 2nd string or 3rd string qbs. But those teams still had in tact defenses that got shredded by OU. I know, i know, your rebut will somehow be to suggest that the OU offense wouldnt have been able to put up all those points if the opposing team's qb1 was playing.

The recipe is there to beat ou.....run it right down their throats and make them like it! ou was the luckiest team in the country last year and everyone except ou fans knows it. Will ou be a good team? Yes. Will they win like last year? No. I think Texas will beat ou again...and I think it will be better than last year.

The recipe is there to beat anyone, you just have to go out and do it. Last time I checked, qbs dont play defense, and OU offense was lighting up defenses with consistency last year. So they could have just ran it down OU's throat and made them like it, right? I have good reason to presume my team will improve from last year, especially considering many of their best contributors were first or second year guys. You assume your yount talent will improve, so you cant knock me for assuming the same about OU's young talent.

You said the LHN was a complete failure. It was not and it is not. It is actually making money right now. You really have penis envy don't you? The lose face nonsense you said is, well retarded.....Texas is the big dog of this conference even when Texas is down.

You dont need penis envy to recognize a failure when you see it. That doesn't even make sense at all. It's lost money for five consecutive years. Are you suggesting that the loss has already been recouped, or that it's finally not losing money, year after year, and eventually espn will recover that loss with the newfound profits? I dont believe my lose face comment is retarded at all, I think that texas thought they would have a successful network ,because, "we're texas" and that would just be good enough. Losing 48 million tells me it wasnt enough. But hey maybe they'll end up making money as time goes on. I dont care about OU having a network, or if it made a billion dollars. I dont see a penny of that so personally its meaningless to me. But I would rather have a conference network because this conference is shit and I would like to see it be brought up from the stinking turd that it is. This will have the side effect of benefiting everyone in the conference, including OU.

The more realistic scenario is your fat, gay president trying to fondle him like he did his male interns when he was in congress.

But like I said, good for you for being open minded about twinkle toes.

Alright.

Since you admit Texas makes a ton of money on the deal, your claim that it's a faceplant on the Longhorn website is pretty retarded, no? It's for Texas fans btw. Wouldn't expect you to enjoy the programming, twelve toe.

Ive seen you use that one before- Am I expected to feel insulted by twelve toe? Forgive me, I just havent been on an elementary school playground in a while. I have already addressed that texas can make money on a deal that is a failure. They got a guarantee from espn, without that, it would have been a financial failure for texas, instead of just for espn. It's nice to have a security blanket. I dont think even many texas fans enjoy the programming , considering the low viewership. They claim to have 7.5 million subscribers (thanks directv), but their two highest rated events last year were the only two live ut football games they had, both were under 424,000 viewers. sucks when all you can get are tier 3 games. I'm pretty confident that volleyball, golf, and fozzy's safari spectacular are exactly putting them over the viewership hump.

Seeing as how the LHN is MAKING Texas money, it is hard to call it a failure.... especially when you consider that it is doing EXACTLY what we wanted it to do for us.... the losses in previous years were due to poor marketing and packaging by ESPN etc when trying to get carriers.... MAYBE you can call it a failure to a degree for ESPN, but it seems to be working fine for Texas - and our money is garaunteed. IE: we havent lost ANY money on the deal.............

I love your concern for Texas financial well being though - even though we could buy and sell blow you 10 times over without feeling a pinch.... tell me who is lining up to offer ou their own network with this kind of payout to the school regardless of losses for the parent company..... and when you cant, let me explain WHY espn doesnt really care - We're Texas. EVERYONE knows us, and we PRINT OUR OWN MONEY. eventually the curve will correct itself for espn simply due to our brand - assuming they contnue to market and package it right.... but either way, there will be lots of jealous, butthurt sooners and aggys crying and trying to slander the network that lines our pockets with cash bc they cant pull anything like this off with their own schools.

FWIW the lhn is filled with proramming for TEXAS fans.... we get all the sports across both sides of mens and womens, we have a dedicated channel to get any Horn news etc from and so on and so on..... funny how sooners and aggys think there is nothing on it.... there is nothing on it for those fan bases that is for sure, - but on a side note, thanks for watching and supporting Texas athletics.

I think a better way of putting it is that espn is really what's paying texas money. They certainly arent able to basque in the windfall of revenue generated from profits of lhn viewership. Without espn's guarantee, its not solvent for tx. I suggested it's a failure for espn financially, because of the failure of the ut brand to attract viewership.

I love your concern for Texas financial well being though

I wouldnt call it a concern.

Which is why I'm left scratching my head trying to figure out why this relatively pitiful revenue compared to the overall money texas has is so meaningful to them. Espn gambled , hugely, that the brand would pay off, and in 5 years it hasnt. You can say it'll eventually correct itself, but 5 years of losses is the reason why its been so far a failure. I dont see why you think we should be jealous- again, as a fan, i see literally $0 from any deals any of these universities make, so i really dont care about what OU or tx makes with these networks. I have a bigger concern personally, which is the solvency of the conference itself, since OU is a part of it. And that's the reason why the lhn is a concern, because it impedes the ability of the big 12 to get on a level playing field against the other conferences. Seems every year we fall further and further behind and its not just in revenue, but also in recruiting and winning meaningful games in the post season. sec is on kids tvs all over the country getting more exposure, and the big 12 needs to get back to where it was, when not long ago they were the best conference with some of the best teams rather consistently.

Yeah, but it seems like those texas fans arent really supporting it too well. Volleyball, baseball, golf etc and 3rd tier football games clearly arent settings any sort of ratings records. I have never actually seen the channel, I refuse to pay for any sort of actual cable or satellite tv providers. But you'd think with a population of 27 million you'd have more than 7.5 million subsribers(the latest numbers i saw at least)

I am so glad ESPN and LHN have turned over the P&L, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements for Heisennberg's review. Your analysis will be on power point in those respective board rooms.

You've somehow gone past full retard at this point. How many households do you think there are in Texas?

The Big 12 initially came together BECAUSE there was a clause that schools could retain their 3rd tier rights. That is why the Big 12 exists in the first place. Texas never would have agreed to the formation of the Big 12 without it. A conference network wold mean each school forfeiting all of its TV media rights. Texas, unlike any other school in the nation, has the unique ability to cash-in on it's brand (it's the biggest brand in college athletics, the only brand that is universal). Hence the fact that it makes more money (and will continue to make more money) than any school in the nation, including those in any conference network for the foreseeable future. It is true that in the long-term, if the Big 12 is not viable, it could erode that brand's worth. Which is why Texas is taking a wait and see approach. I personally like the Big 12 and would like to see some kind of compromise that would entice brand-name programs but it's ridiculous for schools like OU (yes even OU is a have not when compared to Texas) to question what Texas does. Texas is looking out for Texas because it has endless options and will wait to the expiration of the contract binding their tier 2 rights before making any type of move whether it benefits the Big 12 or not.

Your insults are just so advanced, man. You are decades ahead of your time, and I am extremely impressed.

No wonder lhn is so incredibly popular.

Thanks, Directtv? Because it makes you sad that TLN is in homes? Poor guy.

Sarcastically thanking them for you. It was in reference to a part of an article i read that suggested directv picking it up increased the number of subscribers to a sports package containing lhn by about 40% and then projecting they'll finally earn a profit for the first time.

I wouldn't either. More like butthurt, envy and bitterness.

lol, there's nothing to be envious about dude. I think my university is doing just fine.

A) Then why are you over here bleeding vaginally all over our website on a daily basis? Oh I forgot, you faceplanted on your Devin Duvernay bragging and predictions. Still butthurt I see.
B) We have 56 overall national titles to your 30.
C) We have 147 overall Big XII titles to your 64.
D) Our titles are clean. Yours aren't.
E) Your "university" isn't ranked in the top 100 universities in the country. It's a glorified football juco.

C) We have 147 overall Big XII titles to your 64. Oh very neat again
D) Our titles are clean. Yours aren't. A couple might be questionable with their recruiting practices. Stoops has turned things around. And please, don't bore me with all your stoops hatred , I've seen it a hundred times.

Oh no , lol, OU is only number 108 out of thousands of universities in the country. We didn't make your arbitrary cut, darn.

And it's nice you mentioned all the national and conference titles for all sports. When we discuss our favorite sport, the one that drives this rivalry, the numbers are much less skewed. Especially since the big 12 started.

I really dont care. I have a degree from OU and an excellent job that most people cant do so I am very satisfied.

If you're so proud, why be so cryptic while bragging???

Fluffing a little? Or just have a job like being a toll booth guy. I get it, not many humans do the job anymore as they are being replaced by cameras.

Can't be a degree from ou for toll booth guy. That would be a Master's from ou.

Not sure what sort of cryptic bragging you are suggesting I have done. I was being sarcastic about being "only" 108th in a list of thousands of universities in the country, when scholz , who brought it up out of nowhere, was attempting to insinuate that not being on the top 100 was a bad thing.

Not trying to fluff. I work with network attached storage; fibre, SAS and iSCSI technologies and network directors. I work as willie the tollbooth operator strictly on the weekends

I was strictly talking about you saying "Look at me, I have a great job....so awesome hardly anyone else can do it....but I'll just leave it at at that".

And you are still being cryptic and fluffing a little.

My neighbor "works WITH" Nuclear physics. Could be the guy coming up with new ways to split the atom or could be the guy that cleans the toilets. If I was bragging about him, I'd give more info. But that's just me.

Personally I spend my days in the Operating room, working with Drs, nurses, surgical techs, sterile processing techs, CEOs of hospitals, CFOs, supply chain, hospital lawyers, management, and we use/evaluate this new age medical equipment. Sometimes to cure cancer. Sometimes removing a uterus. Sometimes creating life thru in vitro fertilization. Sometimes doing complex brain surgery. Sometimes just fixing open hearts. Or jacking around with metal knees or spinal surgery. On occasion microdebriding necrotic tissue from people in car accidents and what not. And that's giving way more info than you did. And still you have no clue what I do.

Yeah... but MOST people wouldnt chose to be a meth addicted gay prostitute.. I mean be proud of it and own it and all... but do you need to brag...

In reality, having a job "most" cant do doesnt make you special... it makes you specialized.. big difference. But if you get down to brass tacks - being an assistant manager at a Chili's is a job that not every can do as well..... so what exactly was the point in bringing that up?

I did say that, as a response to one of your fellow posters denigrating an OU education. If I had a medical degree, I imagine I would have a clue about your job. But I dont, I specialize in other things. It sounds like you have a really cool job though.

What is it you think i am fluffing and being cryptic about? Are you asking for a more detailed description of what it is I do? I design and deploy network storage infrastructure for customers. Hell two of my customers are Austin based: UT and Fleshlight. When a customer has storage needs, lets say 300TB I design a solution to their needs based on what the organization I work for sells. From the types of servers, be it in a blade chassis, towers or rack mounted, to the linux or vmware OS they run. To the switches-directors, and layer 2/layer 3 switches, whether or not they are stacked or in a link aggregate group. To the SAN storage arrays themselves which house the sql/exchange or other db environment as well as their email, web data, live video, network shares etc.. Of course the form factor as well: be it iscsi, fibre, sas etc. My specialty is virtualization so I do P2V migrations, switch cutovers, and live migrations of VM's in enterprise environments on top of deploying what it is they wanted in the design phase. So there's a little bit of me running through the veins of some of your university's network infrastructure.

Yeah... but MOST people wouldnt chose to be a meth addicted gay prostitute.. I mean be proud of it and own it and all... but do you need to brag...

Alright.

it's true, having a specialized job does not make you special. I agree, it does make you specialized. And yes, wow, we agree again, it is a big difference. Sure, but anyone can learn to be an assistant manager at chilis in a short period of time so what. I would wager to say that the vast majority of americans have the mental and physical capacity to learn and could be trained to be an assistant manger at chilis probably by the kickoff of the football season.

The point in bringing it up was to illustrate that even a graduate from an elementary school like OU can be very good at and successful in his field, doing work to be proud of. It was a comment made in jest to another poster who suggested OU isnt any good since they are #108 instead of in the top 100 of universities. Glad to have been able to answer your question.

Heisenberg you do understand the ones that brag about the brand and the great education of UT. I think they believe that a school makes a man. That's not how it works. It's what the man makes of himself. Heisenberg would not have bettered himself going to UT. He made himself what he is. He could do that anywhere. Vince got a degree is he as brilliant as Scholz.

Are you asking for a more detailed description of what it is I do?

Yes, that is what I was getting at.

And thanks for giving it. You are essentially a customer service rep, with a good amount of tech knowledge who seems to come up with good solutions tailored to each customer.

Sorry to tell you, but its a bit disingenuous to say "some of you is running thru the veins of the Longhorn network" and exactly what I was talking about when saying fluffing. So thanks for that.

Hopefully your company doesn't create some fancy computer prompt and outsource to some guy in Pakistan to answer the phones and sell to your customers. In that regard, I wouldn't say you have a job that hardly anyone else can do.;)

Whatever you say. About 10 months ago I spent a few days on your campus racking, stacking and implementing multiple Equallogic storage arrays, servers, and their associated switches. Chances are some functions performed by many longhorns through the UT system are related to data stored on those storage arrays that I configured. Stuff like email, video archive, and web traffic.

Someone felt the need to pay me to travel and suffer time in that lions den. For what it's worth, I also went and did the same thing for Fleshlight, which is interestingly about 10 miles from campus. Then I went to the osu game, which is probably why texas lost =)

Is there also a little bit of you running through the veins of each fleshlight?

Hook 'em

Yea in a way, sure.

True. I find it humorous that people want to bring up education smack talk when all we do is talk sports on here, for the most part.

Cool story bro. TLN was created way before 10 months ago. But credit is all yours. Blood in veins and all.

As for the last bit, you were the one that started all the bragging and education and job smack. Don't dish it if you can't take it.

And for the record, the OU trolls are hardly here to talk sports. I can count on one hand, the quality X's and O's posts any of them have made here.

Admit it, you are mostly here to talk smack and bash any and all things UT. And it gets you a lil wet in your lady parts. And makes you feel better about your life.

Its cool, I get it. If I was an okie, I'd spend my days living on a UT board too. But as a UT fan, I relish quality sports talk......which is why you'll never see me on an OU site.

I did not start it, for the record. scholz did, he brought it up initially.

I dont mind talking some smack, its fun to hear what the other side has to say. Sometimes its fun to argue with. I am not here to bash any and alll things ut at all. But some of these posts make it easy to get into an argument, and plenty of texas posters are happy to oblige.

You give this site too much credit to suggest I live on it. me and my 430 plus posts in 2 and a half years
