I just think Stoops was tired of all the bullshit he had to deal with - self created or not. I didnt like him, thought he was trash as a person, but dude could coach...... AND win a lot of games. He could have done better in some areas, but that goes for most all coaches. I dont think he was afraid of any opponent he was going to have to deal with. This was the coach that just trashed the SEC all the time in the media..... lol. think he was just done and needed out.
