Does anybody remember that Twitter war before former Texas safety Dylan Haines and freshman quarterback Sam Ehlinger? I asked Haines about their back-and-forth battle on Twitter after Texas' pro day, and he downplayed the confrontation.
"We were just joking around," Haines said. "That’s the crazy thing. People take that and don’t know what’s going on. They just kind of blow it up, but I’m good friends with him. We play poker together every weekend. I think he was just doing that for likes or retweets … I just thought it was a little immature, him coming at me (the tweet about Haines getting leaped over). I know he was trying to play, but he was just trying to do it for likes and retweets. The only thing I’d kind of say to him is you don’t know what it’s like yet to be at Texas. The first time you throw a pick-6, people are going to be dogging you. For him, focus on getting on the field and making an impact.”
