Early 2019 Heisman hopefuls

QB Alabama .

The one that got beat out (Hurts) by a guy who can't throw an out pattern or has any accuracy to the flats (Tua). Before you say otherwise, I advise you take a look at what Clemson did to Tua in the CCG. I'm not concerned about Hurts. I think ou let their best option go to moonshine. Why do you think Riley but blocked his transfer.

I’m pretty sure Riley is more concerned about Kendall knowing too much about OU’s offense, tendencies and signals than he is about Kendall playing against his team as the opposing qb. Riley started pursuing Hurts and then Kendall looked to transfer, not the other way around.

Looked up Hurts QBR against Clemson in the 2017 title game, it was 24.2 compared to Watson’s QBR of 63.3. Damn.

No less than a couple of times over the last 2 or 3 years I have openly said I thought Hurts sucked as a passing qb. Riley obviously likes something he sees in him and he knows more than I do so I'll defer to his judgement. I will say Hurts does seem like an upstanding individual, hopefully he can help us out, so I guess I'm on the Hurts wagon now.

Hurts is a good dude. He comes from a good family. His dad is the head football coach at Channelview HS, just east of Houston. Hurts will bring some class with him to OU, something that is sorely needed in Norman, especially at the QB position.

I think the bigger story here is that Riley encouraged Kendall to transfer. Might say a lot about who they have waiting in the wings (Mordecai) Or that he thought with Rattler coming in Kendall was the odd man out with 2 years of eligibility remaining.
