Texas had a closed practice on Tuesday morning, and there was no media availability during or after. Here are a few quick notes based on texts to members of the OB staff from sources near the program:

- Full pads practice, which was a little surprising to hear coming off a pretty physical practice/scrimmage on Saturday. That is very likely to mean a light practice coming up on Thursday.

- As much as people want to hear about the offense, so far, we haven't really heard much to report: the QB rotation remains the same with Ewers as the starter, Maalik Murphy getting most of the work with the twos and Arch Manning mostly with the threes. Furthermore, we were told there haven't been any changes with the offensive line as it's been all spring at this time.

- WR Jaden Alexis is apparently a little banged up coming out of the weekend, but it does not seem like a major concern. Alexis has been somewhat of a reliable target for Arch Manning over the last few practices, so hopefully he'll return to work soon.

- RB Keilan Robinson participated Saturday in individual drills and I was curious as to whether he had worked his way back to full participation in pads on Tuesday: the answer there is apparently a "no." He's making strides, but he's still not all the way back.

- One more thing related to the injured guys: Jaylon Guilbeau -- who is slated to miss spring ball -- is associated with the narrative regarding where Jahdae Barron will line up for the team next year, as he has outside CB/nickel versatility and Guilbeau, of course, played in the nickel last year. Barron had been playing outside in some practices open to the media prior to Saturday, with Michael Taafe in the nickel and Ryan Watts on the other side. For the last two practices, however, the starting outside corners have reportedly been Terrence Brooks and Ryan Watts with Barron in the nickel. It seems the staff thinks that three-man group is the best of those two combos. It will be interesting to see if they eventually like the three-man group of Barron and Watts outside with Guilbeau in the nickel more than Brooks and Watts outside with Barron in the nickel. The good news is, it will be easy to pivot either way given the amount of cross-training it appears that Barron is doing in the interim.

- Finally, the most interesting thing we heard today is that "Ethan Burke was working with the starters" in team drills. We had reported from the scrimmage notes on Saturday that Burke reportedly had an excellent scrimmage, and this follow-up bit of buzz from practice is hard to ignore given the timing of it all. Whether Burke was just working in on Tuesday, or outright playing directly in front of Justice Finkley isn't something we can say definitively at this time. But, based on our sources, Burke played exclusively with the twos on Saturday at the practice open to all the high school coaches. The fact that he's getting any (and perhaps a good amount) of work with the ones at this point in spring ball shows that Ethan Burke is making moves.
