A few quick-hitters ... check-ins are wrapping up. Talked to most of the guys on my list but will have to hit up a couple guys tomorrow.
Allen 2019 WR Theo Wease tells me he'll visit Texas in a couple weeks. He's still finalizing the details of his trip but plans to come to Austin to give UT a look. He said he's legtimately looking at about 15 schools right now and Texas is one of them.
Brennan Eagles told everyone he's not doing any more interviews. I think Nick Krueger may have talked him into giving one interview, but that's it.
Haven't seen D'Shawn Jamison. Don't think he came through the media check-in room unless I somehow missed him. But so did everyone else if he did come through. Will have to track him down tomorrow.
2019 DB and recent UT offer Derek Stingley Jr took an unofficial visit to Texas recently. He's completely wide open, but said he did really like what he saw and heard during the visit.
Five-star WR Amon-Ra St. Brown said he hasn't heard from Texas, but would be open to UT if the coaches went after him. He basically said he's open to everyone at this point. Feels like this one would be an extreme long shot so I wouldn't expect much to happen here.
Rivals250 DE Ronnie Perkins said he'll take a visit to Texas this summer. His coach is setting up visits for him right now so he doesn't have an exact date, but said he'll get to Austin soon. I need to catch up with him tomorrow to get more from him.
DT Joshua Landry is committed to Baylor but camped at Texas recently. He said UT has told him an offer will come at some point. If it does, I think it's pretty safe to say that Landry will flip his commitment after talking to him today.
LB Amari Gainer confirmed what he's told us before, that he'll take a visit to Texas this summer in addition to an official visit in the fall. Going to be awfully tough to pull a Tallahassee kid away from FSU, but he does have an interest in Texas and wants to come in for a closer look.
2019 OL Kardell Thomas rated his commitment to LSU as an 80. He said his feelings of Texas would be about a 70. His decision may ultimately come down to how LSU and Texas play on the field in 2017 and even 2018.

Rivals.com interviews with Al'Vonte Woodard:
And with Anthony Cook:

Houston Heights DB Jalen Green tells me he'll release a top five at The Opening in late June. Texas will make the cut.
Green is taking things slowly and doesn't want to make a final decision until National Signing Day.
Green said he talks to the UT coaches every day, usually Jason Washington. He's been told they love his versatility and that he'd have a chance to play right away.
He'll visit Texas on July 17.
I told him my money has been on Texas and asked if that was misguided, and he agreed that Texas has a really good shot. But he does want to wait things out, see how UT progresses.
He was also at the Texas Southern satellite camp. Both Texas and Ohio State were talking to him, with Ohio State trying to get him in for a visit. Green said he talks to B.J. Foster pretty much every day. In fact, Foster was been recruiting him for UT before Foster even committed.

Al'Vonte Woodard tells me he'll decided this summer, and there's no reason to think it will be anyone but Texas. He made it out to the Texas Southern satellite camp, where he got a chance to talk to the UT coaches (him, Anthony Cook, Jalen Green and Malcolm Epps were all out there).
Woodard has a top five of Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Ohio State and Ole Miss. He has visited Ole Miss, Texas and Texas A&M and plans to visit LSU and Ole Miss this summer. He's not sure about getting back to Austin this summer.
Woodard said he wasn't very high on Texas going into this year, but with the coaching change, he's really come around. He knows a few guys on the team who have fully bought in and told him things are really good under the new staff.
One interesting note ... Justin Watkins is among the players recruiting Woodard on UT's behalf. B.J. Foster is another.

Talked to five-star DB Anthony Cook.
A couple notes ...
Cook said he's taking things slowly but Texas is in his top three. I guessed that the other two are Ohio State and Clemson, and he confirmed.
He said Texas was high on his list but he had kind of lost interest with the previous staff. But the new staff has Texas back in the mix. Cook was out at the Texas Southern satellite camp that UT was at this weekend and he spent time talking to both the Texas coaches and the Ohio State coaches ... he said it was pretty bizarre having both staffs there but he got a good laugh that Texas doesn't miss a beat.
We talked about the social media department that Texas has put together and he said they send him cool stuff all the time. He's been blown away but that stuff and he sent me these examples.

Big update here ....
DB Trey Dean, who visited UT recently, said the Longhorns are now his number one school. He has a top four of Texas, Georgia, Alabama and Michigan and plans to take a second visit to UT in late June or early July with his family. His visit visit was with his sister, who lives in Houston, and his sister's boyfriend, who lives in Austin.
Dean is going to commit this summer and right now the Texas is sitting at number one.

Players are beginning to check in. Just saw the Houston crew made it in. They're eating and will go through normal check-in stuff (pick up gear, video interviews, etc) before I get a chance to talk to them.
I did just speak to five-star wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr., who had some interesting things to say. Marshall has already visited Texas for a junior day. He said he wants to come back this summer and UT will get an official visit. Marshall has a top four of Texas, LSU, Miami and Texas A&M. There's a fifth school that he said he wants to keep a mystery but will release at some point.
Here's Mike Farrell's interview with Marshall:
Marshall visits with Drew Mehringer and Tom Herman and said Texas is very much in the mix. He likes the way they've told him he would be used and that he'd have the opportunity to play as a true freshman.
I'll add to this thread as more guys come through.
