Fowler

Yea they were saying maybe as early as Saturday. According to Richardson just has to finish the course he is taking, but the tests and what not are good to go,

Can anyone provide a link to the Fowler article that was posted in the War Room on Orangebloods? I think it was posted about an hour ago

Basically, we should know something today. Everything else is just internet fodder.

The tone is positive

Per another poster on another site:

Things should play out one way or the other soon. As already mentioned, Fowler is said to feel good about his most recent test, but until he is cleared by the clearinghouse there is nothing really more that can be said.

I heard from a source that he has already signed with a junior college in case things don't go well.

That's not good, prep school would have been better for our chances should he not get in this fall.

The clearinghouse clock has begun, he has until August 31st to get in, I believe. That's the last day to add/drop or may be further into September..

I just don't have a lot of confidence in the clearinghouse.

The way they operate it may be Aug 31 before they even look at the paperwork.

Fowler update I got today sounds very very good.

The clearinghouse is not backed up with requests since this is later in the process and close to the school year. They will have something back to him very quickly.

Not to be a Debbie downer but getting through the clearing house is going to be tough, my understanding is they basically compare test scores and if the jump is somewhat significant then they flag it. I hope that's not the case for the kid, you can't rout against kids who are busting their tails to achieve their goals.

Getting through clearing house isn't going to be about getting a higher SAT score. It's more about his current SAT and getting the right grade in his summer school class to get the right combination of scores to get in. I think he has to get an A in his summer school course to get in, not impossible but no easy task.

I don't think that is accurate but I could be wrong. They will flag based on a few different things, you are correct that they match his grades with his test score but they also look at the improvement you have made regarding just the past test scores, to high odf a jump and they will flag it.

He isn't taking the SAT or ACT, he is retaking a Geometry class (maybe more, I'm not sure) but to get in, it's about passing that class (or classes) with the right score and then submitting to clearing house his transcripts with his test scores.

Right but that class was to raise his gpa high enough to match the most recent sat/act score he received in June. Both are being submitted to the clearing house for review.

Tired of your commits decommitting so you have to come here and root against one of our players getting in????

Yes "we" were talking about one of "our" players. Haven't seen you post in a long while.

Why pop up here and now? Simple question. Football season is close. But bored on ATM sites?

No, the non flagged test score.

Actually yes that's correct. I've posted here a couple of times this year but still come over and read. I chime in on certain conversations. The clearinghouse issue is one In particular because their process is trash. I still don't agree that they aren't taking into consideration his latest score, it won't be flagged until it's submitted is my understanding but I could be wrong. From reading the 247 site back in June I thought that fowlers score had made a significant jump and he needed the course work to match his score, now that all is complete it and his most recent test score are with the clearinghouse. If his score is not consistent with prior scores then they can flag it. Again that is my understanding of the process. My opinion is if his score matches his grades and gpa then that should be sufficient.

His non-flagged exam and the summer school classes are what has been submitted. His flagged test score would have had him in far sooner. From what I know, he is good to go if/when clearinghouse clears him.
