It's on the news out here. Dallas is getting their 1 in 1000 year flood. My brother told me a tropical storm came in from Mexico to south Texas and is pounding west and north Texas and my brother said Austin is getting rain.

But TX has a history of droughts and then all of a sudden a flood hits. San Antonio had this in Oct '98. It was the rainiest day in San Antonio history.

Both storms started out as tropical storms out of Mexico. I hope the city of Dallas can bounce back. I like the city of Dallas.

Why couldn't this storm hit College Station? Nobody would care.

Buddy is a cop in Dallas. They had to tow 27 cars today from 1 intersection and 1 lady flipped and drowned. Been crazy. Rains over here in ft worth but Dallas is still getting hit.

It's a low pressure (the remnants of a small storm) and a cool front combining. They had 15" of rain in some areas of DFW. It's headed south now towards Houston.

From what I understand, the storms hit Dallas and headed south. We’ve received a good amount here in Austin, and forecast call for more all week.

You're in ft worth too? And our names are so similar...are we the same person? Lol
I live in Aledo but my office is in Fort Worth. We got slammed over there. I’m seeing reports of 12+” in some places close to the office. If so that’s one of the highest rainfall totals I have seen in less than 18 hours.

Nine and a half inches in Granbury. We had some cracks at job sites that small dogs would fall into.

Have no idea how much, but for a normally dry El Paso, I will use "sh*tload" as the unit of measure for the amount of rainfall the last couple of weeks.

What about 4 inches? I was stationed at Fort Bliss and I remember what a quarter of an inch could do there.

I believe this is the first time anything like this has ever happened in north Texas. Must be more evidence of man-made climate change. Time to invest more money the government doesn't have buying more crap from China that will have minimal if any impact on climate to appease the masses.

Hundred year floods were mapped out welp, a hundred years ago. China's nothing to do with it. Medina lake will fill up overnight though. Don't buy into Al gores bullshit.

Yep, more to come to the point that sand bags are out.
I was stationed at Bliss for 16 months. Whenever it did rain the clouds would cover the top of Mckelligon Canyon and it was a pretty sight.

So really how much has it rained?

I am not sure because it has been over 2 weeks. I googled rainfall El Paso, but no info. I am not really sure where to look. But it has been a lot. Every year, either late July through August we get most of our rain for the year. IT comes from the monsoon season from the Pacific. You probably wouldn't recognize El Paso from back then. Fort Bliss has really significantly expanded.

That is how weather patterns happen a lot times. Drought and then you get 4 months of rain all at once. I'm glad the state is getting rain though, it's been a dry summer.

Dallas will be fine.

College Station gets rain events like this, it just doesn't flood because there aren't overpasses and as much concrete that funnels water to one spot.

Just to clarify, I was not anywhere near your office yesterday...................................

Gee whiz I was trying to be funny about College Station.

My brother in Austin was telling me with more rain coming there. It may not be as hot in the AL game like so many people feared.
