That's true but paying a coach with very little track recored as if he's an elite coach is stupid. I'd offer Herman Strongs salry and tell his reps if LSU wants to pay you more have fun.

When u say keep Strong "if" this then that means you are saying keep him. Quit trying to worm into something different.
You've got to give Charlie a lot of credit for incomparable consistency though.....
Whatever dude I've stated my opinion that handing the job to Herman is a bad idea. That doesn't mean I want Strong. I made it clear the guys id talk to. If you want to make things up about me liking Strong or whatever I guess that's fine but it's an outright lie.

I have a feeling this nightmare has a few more chapters left, thanks to our storied tradition of administrative bumbling and incompetence. Fenves and Perrin seem quite likely to add to that illustrious history.

Spencer Tillman just said something I agree with - basically that anybody who has been watching the grousing, arguing and interfering with who the Coach is, isn't, or may be someday soon most probably isn't interested in coming to Texas.

The donors pay the coaches salaries. They always have a say. They are foolish to think that other schools are different in that respect.
Herman will leave Houston for a P5 job & a chance to play for the MNC. Chances are slim that will EVER happen in Houston.
All the filthy rich boosters want is for the HC to win football games. Do that and they'll leave your job alone.

You mean the posts where I explain why I don't want Herman and say who I would go after? You mean the posts where i say I'd rather get our leadership in place and then make a coaching hire? Yeah I do. Try reading them. I've said many times that I like Strong and think he will do well in his next stop but it's time for a change. With that said if you have clowns making the next choice I don't feel real good about that. That's not a defense of strong it's a knock on our current leadership, and now we're in a spot where as we're looking at AD candidates they are going to come in with football basketball and baseball coaches firmly in place? That makes it much less attractive. None of my opinion is a defense of strong. So like I said your statement that I love strong and WANT him to stay is a lie simple as that. I actually warned of this when the baseball coach hire was going crazy. I said we better get a real AD in here because we're likely to have a football search. Well here we are and it's been a circus.
On the bright side, GDDH has played his last game in the Longhorn secondary...
