In all my years as a Longhorn, I really miss one player, oh sure we had the greats Earl, Ricky, VY but this guy is the only ambassador for Texas, and the only one that really brought thrills and chills to Texas FB is Jordon Shipley, the only guy that could catch a ball in midair upsidown eating a Whatburger, all them Kick returns that made ya get ya ass outa your chair, wish we had 2 more like him

And man did he ever embarrass those Oklahoma sooners. 4 td's in three years and a classic performance in 2008. Maybe the greatest single game by a Texas receiver. Hell with Roy the alleged legend (typical Bill Little bs). When it came to the RRR he was no legend at all otoh Jordan was.

Shipley was great and sure impacted the RRR. Another great one that came out of Texas and definitely impacted the RRR was Quinton Griffin. Definitely 2 RRR legends.

I miss Colt.

I will never understand GDGD for always running him, when he knew if Colt got hurt we were FUBAR.

Add Colt McCoy to this team and suddenly we are a top 5 team again.
This is true. Colt would make this team go from average to excellent right now. Knew where to go with the ball and could place it perfect. He was so underrated and should have won the Heisman. If not for him Mack probably would have been fired a few years earlier really.

Colt didn't deserve the Heisman but he was definitely good. Who do u guys appreciate more, Colt or applewhite?

Other Heisman winners didn't feel as such so their opinion is much more respected. I like Colt, he was good. One of the Texas players I respected

Colt is and it isn't even close. Applewhite isn't as revered by all Texas fans as you think. I like him but, I don't consider him one of the greats-he was above average with an exceptional running back named Ricky sharing the same backfield.

His senior year he had over 70% completion percentage and was the winningest QB in College Football history. YES he did deserve the Heisman.. his JR year was 76% and rating of 173 or something like that. He should have won it his JR year if not his SR year.

You sooners are known for your hatred of all things Texas. So your opinion means 0

If you guys ( Texas fans) feel McCoy deserved it then that's fine. In most Heisman years a case can be made for each guy at the ceremony on why they should win the award. Heck I thought heupel should have won it over Weinke and AD over Matt Leinart but it is what it is.

Exactly. Colt did what he did in 2008 and 2009 without jack sh*t for a running game.

I think one of the most impactful WRs we've ever had that doesn't get mentioned near enough is Kwame Cavil. Nobody, I mean nobody, has ever run the quick slant like he did. How would Major have looked if not for the countless times Kwame took that quick slant and turned it into huge yards? That dude almost always seemed to get loose on that pattern. I've often wished we could find another WR with the knack for breaking loose through middle like he had. I loved Major, but Kwame really made him look better than he was at times.

Didn't Kwame come to college as very high rated LB? But, yes, he made a ton of plays.

I think he did. Pretty sure he was moved to WR from somewhere on defense. Thank god. Dude was a beast.

I always thought Roy Williams was pretty good but not great

Roy could have been an all-time great, but his work ethic was crap. He was a physical freak of nature who was one of the laziest players on his teams in practices and workouts -- and in an era (pre-2004) when lackadaisical attitudes toward S&C were very much the norm on Texas teams. He himself said that he rarely darkened the door of the weight room in high school. He was just born a freakish physical specimen, and he coasted on natural ability from high school to the NFL. His route-running was always weak, he dropped too many balls, and he wasn't really even a willing blocker until his SR season. (He was also just an assh*le and a poor teammate, as evinced by, among other things, his mocking Billy Pittman for his Bell's Palsy, along with the other members of the "Big Three.")

Had he put the kind of effort that Jordan Shipley and Quan Cosby did into their craft, he could have been legendary instead of just good.

Nobody like Earl, you payed to f--k with him

Why are sooners in this thread dumping in it and the one that was complimentary couldn't help but try to change a UT player thread in to an OU/RRR players thread???

Cockroaches just can't help themselves in EVERY SINGLE THREAD.

Where did any Ou fan dump on this thread ? I'm hoping you aren't this sensitive in real life.

Okies aren't cockroaches. That's reserved for those Purple Douches from Fort Worth. The Gospel According to Darrell.

You do know OUin Cali is a Texas fan right? Him mentioning Shipley's impact in the RRR was not an attempt to change the subject of the thread I don't believe but keep practicing those mod skills because one day you may get there.

1 I'm just pointing something out. Not losing any sleep over it. The post took me seconds to type. And that was all the thought I gave it yesterday. Sorry if that upsets you, but I am not obsessed with this site or soonerpoop or you at all.

2 Devurnay to UT thread...turns in to pages of OU is 1000x better than UT next year. This thread has talk of Quentin Griffin (I don't even think OU fan that brought him up, even spelled his name right). Next time I go to soonerpoop will be the first in a long while. And the next time I go to a thread about OU greats and start talking about VY, well that will never happen.
I don't see the point. Sorry you are so obsessed and you live here. Must be an enriching life you live in "real life". That is if you log off of here long enough to have one.

I post here and there and that means I live here? Your post makes little to no sense. Everyone else was posting just fine then you show up with this garbage? Why? I'll tell you like I told another poster. If you are here to insult and attempt to belittle me you are barking up the wrong tree. Your choice
