Did anyone catch that high school football game laat night where refs called 8 consecutive penalties (one was picked up)? All 8 flags thrown with less than 8 minutes to go in the game...one of the most insane things I've seen I think. I have a new view of games now that I've started my rookie year of high school football officiating. I'm having an absolute blast learning more about the rules (Texas high school football goes by NCAA rulebook, with some exceptions), mechanics (where you as a ref stand by position) and game overall. Scrimmage work under my belt coupled with classroom and Zoom trainings...now onto first week of games!
