Cliffs Notes: The Longhorns lost a commitment on Thursday, as Aledo 2026 running back Raycine Guillory made the decision to open up his recruitment.

Offer List: Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU, Texas A&M and USC

Evaluation: The 5-10, 175-pound Guillory is a big-play waiting to happen for powerhouse Aledo. Possessing quick feet that allows him to make guys miss in a phone booth, Guillory reminds me a little of Jaydon Blue in that when he gets a step on the defense once he gets to the second level of the defense, he has a chance to take it to the house every time. Guillory is a very good cutback runner who does a great job of sensing where the open space is to run. Averaged almost 9 yards per carry as a sophomore.

Why it matters: Guillory is one of the top running backs in the state, but he's one of a handful of near-elite level running backs in the Lone Star State in the 2026 class. The elephant in the room with regards to 2026 running back recruiting is that Texarkana (Texas) High's Tradarian Ball is regarded as the top overall running back in the state of Texas and might eventually earn a 5-star ranking. There is some belief that the Longhorns might be the favorite to land Ball, while the likes of USC, LSU and Texas A&M are close behind.

Expectations: Whether Guillory is in the class of 2026 or not, the expectations exist for the Longhorns to sign a top national running back prospect or two. All eyes turn to Ball in my mind.

2023 Highlights: Enjoy these sophomore highlights.
