Cliffs Notes: In an absolute must-win game if the Longhorns want to qualify for the NCAA Tournament, the Longhorns went to Norman and picked up its first SEC win with a 77-73 win over Oklahoma.

The Participants: Texas (11-5) and Oklahoma (13-3)

Pre-Game KenPom Rankings: Texas (No. 39) and Oklahoma (No. 46)

Game MVP: Jordan Pope was an absolute killer for the Longhorns tonight, scoring 27 points on 9 of 17 shooting, including a perfect 6 of 6 from the free throw line in the second half.

Almost an Uh-oh: When Tramon Mark made a lay-up with 16:15 left in the second half, the Longhorns took a 53-30 lead and were in the middle of its most complete game of the season... and then the floor dropped out as Oklahoma went on a 43-24 the rest of the game, but the Sooners were never able to take the lead from the Longhorns.

Big Shot Tre: Freshman All-American Tre Johnson didn't have his biggest night of the season in scoring 16 points on 17 shots, but he made two huge jump shots in the final 2 minutes of the game when the Longhorns needed it most.

Quiet night: Arthur Kaluma scored 8 points and only grabbed 2 rebounds, which makes two straight subpar outings since his monster performance against Auburn. Take that 34-point game against the Tigers away and Kaluma has only scored 30 points in his previous four games, including this one.

Because I'm a nerd: Points through 15 career games: Tre Johnson (282) Kevin Durant (351)

Yeah, KD was special. This was close for a while, but it's probably time to stop.

ESPN Bracketology: Just thought I would give everyone a view of how things look at this stage of the season.
