I've got a $1 mil tax bill to pay. $750k is owed taxes and $250k is penalties & interest. I have the funds to pay the tab but I'd like to see if I can get a portion of it abated or restructured.
Should I engage a CPA to represent me with the IRS, or should I use a Tax Attorney?
I'm looking for someone who specializes in this sort of thing, any referrals would be appreciated.
My return has been filed and is correct, so really negotiating is all that needs to be done at this point (I guess).
