Oh thanks. I've been pretty laid back in my responses to you on this board but we can go ahead and do it your way going forward.
I mean since it's so rare that a team makes the playoff with 0 losses, Ou is right in the thick of things with 1 loss. Bama will probably be the only undefeated, so what's the 1 loss mean to OU? not much, they just have no margin for error. Must be nice being a texsa fan,knowing before the first game they wont even compete for the big 12 much less a NY6 bowl or a playoff spot. Kind of takes the pressure off of having actual expectations. I know the feeling, I am a 49er fan.
Just depends on what the other 1 loss teams did. who their 1 loss is to, and who they defeated along the way. Ohio state remaining a 1 loss contender certainly helps OU. The pac champ will have a bad loss, so will the champ of acc, assuming it's clemson. Too much ball left to be played, too many teams left who will inevitably lose a game they shouldnt lose. But I believe most if not all of the top 15 controls their own destiny by winning out. And of all the 1 loss teams out there fighting for a playoff spot, only 4 of them will have a conference championship, which will further separate them. Assuming bama wins out.
True. Of course it's all relative. But OU sits at 9 in the AP right now. You need some help. The Big 10 has 3 teams ahead of you, the ACC 2 and the SEC 2 and then there's TCU. Wouldn't be surprised to see a 1-loss OU team be left out even with a win over TCU seeing as how Georgia is still undefeated. I could see the winner of Clemson/Miami, whoever wins the Big, Bama and Georgia pretty easily.

Unless we all of a sudden inherit some consistent receivers outside of our true freshman, or our receivers decide to really step up I'd just as soon not get a playoff spot
When was the last time we had a champion without 1 loss? In fact, teams with a single loss have historically filled the playoff field. So of course OU is in the playoff mix, right along with just about every other team with 1 or less losses. And if they win out, they have a very good chance of getting in. I doubt sec gets two, especially since one of them will end up with a loss after the ccg. Provided the committee views a 1 loss georgia (if they lose their ccg) the same as a 1 loss OU, then they'd have OU as the big 12 champ in over the sec #2 team. And if osu wins out, OU would have a great win over them. Tcu ought to be a nice win too. Especially if you look at the quality of the sec this year, it's a pretty weak conference outside bama and uga this year.
It'll be less of a factor than their victory over ohio state. Committee has tended to value who you beat more than who beat you. Not too worried about it, there tends to be separation between the 1 loss teams.
All those losses negated each other in that 3 way tie. OU also lost earliest which helped their positioning in the bcs polls, which is what really determined who won the tie breaker.. tx doesnt have to worry about that this year, just finishing above .500 will be a victory in and of itself.
