A white boy may win it, but I don't think its the white boy from Texas. My money is on Trevor Lawrence at Clemson. Dude is a more athletic version of Peyton Manning

That would be smart Money, with the weapons he has and his talent level, he is going to be unstoppable next year.

Love Ehlinger, but Lawrence is on a whole different level. Besides, I think Ehlinger will do well enough to get invited to NY.

he'll make multiple trips to the heisman ceremony if he goes to OU,

But, he'll never win a Natty!

Well that shits gonna stop this year also, won't be a 3 peat... gotta feelin a white boy from Texas gonna win it this yr! or some bodies gonna catch his ass sleeping one game this year..maybe Texas, maybe someone else, Bama would not have demoted him from starter unless something other than Tua happened!

But, he'll never win a Natty! And tell him they will always lose the game that means the most...lol Classic sooner shit! That Heisman don't mean shit no more since Bush ****ed it up!
Lol inject this into my veins. Love it

Nothing in that article surprises me at all. Dude is a natural born leader who people would run through walls for. The question is, can he lead the OU offense like it has been run the last 3 years? Based on what I have seen from his two years at Alabama, he doesn't have the accuracy or the arm that Baker has and doesn't have the elite athleticism that Kyler has. He has intangibles off the freakin charts, but will he be able to do what that offense needs him to do? That is the question and won't be answered until possibly the second weekend in October in Dallas.
I watched Murray at aTm, he sucked. At Oklahoma, he becomes a Heisman winner and the number 1 pick in the NFL draft.

I've probably watched Hurts play close to 20 times. If Riley turns him into an elite passer, I will be impressed and shocked. But he is a leader and a hell of a runner. He isn't nearly as fast as Murray, but he runs like a running back. He will run over db's and is unbelievably hard to bring down in the 4th quarter when the defense is gassed. I prefer him as a runner over Murray, he won't slide 10 times a game to keep from getting hurt. His game is kind of similar to Ehlinger, but a little more speed. Ehlinger might be a little more accurate of a passer. They are really similar in my book.

Hurts was made for Alabama, I just don't see him as a guy who has any business throwing the ball 40+ times a game. I bet Oklahoma is pretty balanced this year on offense. Hurts will need a running game, and he should be a huge part of that running game.
Starting Oklahoma QBs in the last few years have thrown the ball under 30 times a game. I don’t think they are looking for 40 throws a game.

Of course the heisman means something, all these kids grow up dreaming about winning one. Could be worse, could be texas and he'd never win a natty, a heisman or even a lousy conference championship. Could actually end up with a losing season. Speaking of games that mean the most.. That big 12 championship game sure meant a lot right?

And no, a white boy from Georgia is winning the heisman this year.

There wont be any room for ehlinger at the ceremony with hurts, tago and lawrence getting all the love.

Go post your BS over at soonerscoop. I deleted your other nonsense. You're about to get run with your posting style here.

I don't know who opened the flood gates for all of the sooner posters to migrate over here today. You guys are welcome to post here as long as you keep it respectful. Using this board to trash and denigrate Texas isn't going to fly. Keep in mind where you're posting. This is an orange house and you should respect that.

Honestly I was totally with you on the accuracy front going into this...and it's a tiny sample but he looked fine in that department at the scrimmage. I can't recall too many errant throws and his motion looked pretty good.

My issue is he's not good at going through progressions historically. He bails early and tries to run. If you saw the open mic explosion from last year's Bama spring game when Saban lost it...I'm thinking that was the issue.

If he doesn't get that fixed he won't be playing for Riley for very long...Lincoln can scheme but if the QB is missing open receivers I would doubt he keeps the job. He even said he was promised nothing coming to OU.

I dont post on OU message boards.

And i have one of the best posting styles there is, what issue do you take with it? I dont disparage or name call posters, and I stick with the issues and don't get personal.

Go back and re-read your posts today and how you've disparaged Texas. And no, you don't have "one of the best posting styles there is". Keep it respectful and you're fine, but if you continue to disparage Texas like you have, there's going to be a problem.

Dude said to my comment about recruits, that coming to OU "he'll never win a natty" and i responded with "Could be worse, could be texas and he'd never win a natty, a heisman or even a lousy conference championship". That doesnt disparage texas, that's me comparing what a recruit would experience at one school vs the other.

It's not like im going off the rails and saying orange sucks and texas sucks. I'm not being a dick.

And that's the kind of BS that isn't going to be allowed on here. How do you not get this? o_O

Saying this kind of thing about OU on an OU board would get someone run. Why do you think this is ok here?

All a poster has to do tell me that OU doesnt win nattys. That's all it takes to evoke my accurate, reasonable response.

I for one can not wait!

Fine. If that "evokes" you in whatever way, go post your frustrations on a $ooner site, but don't do it here.

Fuk' Him! and the rest of the team and Riley and the covered wagon shit! He is just one guy,..

F**ck Hurts! and OU!

Hello there's a double standard on this board- shit talking belongs to tx fans. Period. Well I take that back. It's not just tx fans. Anyone who shit talks OU or aggie gets a pass. I think that's how message boards work. It's important to create an air of inclusivisity.

You are correct. This is a TEXAS board. Same thing would go for visitors on an OU or aggy board. Remember whose house your in. It's not that complicated.

Someone posted a link to one of the threads on sooner scoop today. Honestly the first time I've ever clicked and entered orange bloods. I've actually enjoyed reading a lot of your stuff. It's funny because it's the same stuff here (ou in every thread) as it is for us (UT in every thread). That's what makes this rivalry so special. Think about it, our hatred for each other actually makes life a little more fun. I'll never forget the first time I walked into the Cotton Bowl with my dad. I've done it 18 times since and still get the same chills. Taking my son for the first time this year. I hope it is always at the fair and our hatred never waivers. I never want to like Texas or for you guys to like us but I respect the heated rivalry and always will. Can you imagine living in a world where OU-Texas didn't exist? Man, I don't want to. Just my two cents. Have a blessed day fellas. Boomer Sooner!

OU fans, pay attention. This guy gets it. This kind of post is fine. Keep it respectful. A little ribbing back and forth is fine, but the childish, antagonistic posts and reported posts aren't going to be allowed here, just as the mods on sooner scoop wouldn't allow them.

I’m not sure you know what a double standard is.

This is just a standard. When you go into someone else’s house you do what you can to not offend them.

Basically the new 0U trolls came into our house today with both middle fingers up, which isn't going to fly and is what got them run. CYA! =)roll

I dunno, I've been on boards in the past who let it go both ways if it doesnt get into 6th grade insults and child like name calling. Reasonable banter referencing reality is usually pretty acceptable. So there's not always a double standard where they let the home fan say anything just because of who he roots for.

A double standard is applying a different set of rules for different people. I.e. home fans vs opposing fans. I was explaining to the poster that the double standard exists, which is why the behavior of some posters is acceptable but not for others.

I can bash Texas with the best of them, I just don’t see the point in coming over here just to start fights.

The passion and hatred is why college football is the greatest sport but it shouldn’t turn us into degenerates.

Fairness is critical to the definition of a double standard.

It’s reasonable/fair to expect OU fans to not be disparaging or antagonistic on any dedicated UT board.

If the mods didn’t enforce those rules then rival fanbases would invade each other’s boards and potentially hurt subscriber-ship by pointing out inconvenient truths.

Fans don’t come to these boards for debate from opposing fanbases - they are mostly an echo chamber where fans can live in a bubble where their team is the focus.
