Jalen Hurts--- it's as I feared

I thought the thread was about Hurts. Most comments pretty accurate. Plainosooner one of the most experienced OU fans but think he missed the boat with Mordecai from the spring game. In any event, the poster who mentioned the respective Olines probably had the best take on what will happen this fall. Kyler and Baker played with very experienced Olines that Hurts will not have. Recall the problems the Horns had a few seasons ago with inexperienced front lines. Expect the OU defense to improve somewhat but O will still need to be lights out to win the RRS.

Fairness is critical to the definition of a double standard.

It’s reasonable/fair to expect OU fans to not be disparaging or antagonistic on any dedicated UT board.

If the mods didn’t enforce those rules then rival fanbases would invade each other’s boards and potentially hurt subscriber-ship by pointing out inconvenient truths.

Fans don’t come to these boards for debate from opposing fanbases - they are mostly an echo chamber where fans can live in a bubble where their team is the focus.

That's what the board is about, but there are different threads on the board where things like an OU qb being in the title of a thread kind of lends itself to being attended to by any resident fans of OU. It's another thing to follow around other unrelated threads to pick fights. So anyone who doesnt want to see anything related to that treachery usually ignores the whole thread.

LOL! Funniest thing I have read in a while. I am not making fun of you man, it is just that we have had an OL problem for a long long time. Last year we were okay and the year before we were okay. We were abysmal for the entirety of the Strong era

Planiosooner is the laughingstock of soonerscoop, I don’t know what you’re talking about

Lol, are you trying to say that Trevor Lawrence has a better shot at the Heisman that Ehlinger? Then I agree.

But if you are saying your qb has a better shot than Ehlinger, then I respectfully........Bwahahahahahahahaha.

no wait, bwahahahahahahahaha.

I'm sorry but I can't keep a straight face thinking that your qb has a better hot at the Heisman than Ehlinger.

Lawrence is the best qb in the country and will be until he gets drafted #1.

Hurts was a heisman finalist as a qb of a run heavy alabama team. He has a higher passer rating, is a better runner, has a higher completion percentage, averages more yards per pass, has a better td:int ratio, has more experience than ehlinger, and is a proven winner but you think it's a joke that he has a better shot? Voters will not give OU a third straight heisman unless Hurts throws 99 touchdowns with 0 ints and rushes for 3000 yards but that's besides the point.

But, yeah OU's qb definitely has a better chance, just looking at who's calling plays and who's catching balls is enough to say that with a straight face. The same would apply to comparing a top saban linebacker having a better chance at the Bednarik just because of his history. Herman has a rather unimpressive history of developing qbs as a coordinator. Ward was his only success story but applewhite was actually his qb coach and OC. And you think he's or beck is gonna make ehlinger a heisman candidate? Not even in a league who doesnt play D.

Every starting qb Riley has had since 2013 has thrown for 4000+ yards. Any qb of Riley's is going to be up there. If Hurts fails he'd be the first Riley qb to throw for less than 3000 yards. The only question is the line and if the line plays well, Hurts wont likely throw 4000 yards but he will still have a better season. Let's revisit this post in 7 months.

Game is easy at Alabama. You are not Alabama.

Lol, you think you have better receivers than Texas. ROTFL that you still think your QB can pass the ball. Lets face it, you have a RB playing QB.

Uh, the offenses that Hurts ran at alabama were inferior to OU's offense. They were 7th in 2016, and 17th in 2017. That's the one thing OU has been doing better than them. He will have better numbers at OU than he did at alabama, and he had pretty decent numbers at alabama.

Oh a tx fan telling an OU fan that the qb wont be good as good we think he'll be. Yeah that sounds familiar. That one hasnt been working out too well for you lately has it? Of course OU has had and continues to have better receivers than texas. Lamb is better than Johnson and Calcaterra (as a TE no less) has been better than Duvernay. And that doesnt get into a comparison of the freshmen.

Lol, you thinking that your QB can pass the ball.

You know what's actually funny? That hurts (who apparently can't pass the ball) still has a higher completion percentage, and throws for more yards per pass, has a higher QB rating than ehlinger. Not bad for a a running back. what's sam's excuse? He's a true qb, not some rb who can throw. Hurts 707 attempts, Ehlinger 700 attempts. Yet hurts has 400 more yards passing, 12 more touchdowns, and is a better runner to boot. If he's some scrub who cant pass, yet outperformed your boy, what does that make ehlinger? Hurts will have over 3000 yards passing this year, book it dano!
