Joshua Moore Enters the Transfer Portal

That video of Coach Bo gives me a little hope. They are sending a message that if you don't want to be here then get the F out! I bet whoever leaked the video probably thought it was going to get a different reaction from the public. I love how everybody is standing behind Coach Bo. There are some bad seeds in that locker room and until they are weeded out this program isn't going to go anywhere.

Look at what big Kasey Studdard had to say about the rant from Coach Bo lol

The Kasey Studdard type is EXACTY what this team needs! Guys should be embarrassed and pissed off, not laughing and joking around after a loss and filming your coach giving the team a deserved ass chewing. It's probably going to have to get worse before it gets better.

I don't know if you had any credibility before, but saying we need new ADs... I mean... Do you even pay attention at all? He has installed in however many months championship-level coaches at every spot he's hired for. EVERY ONE. If you want Sark gone after 9 games, it reaffirms your stupidity, but whatever. So let's say you are somehow right on his hire there... THAT MAKES CDC SOMETHING LIKE 5 OUT OF 6! SO YEAH LET'S FIRE HIM, TOO! Vent away but you have zero credibility
Who is Chris Plonsky? Do you know?

It's not rocket science when you can pay good coaches (non-revenue) more than other universities. CDC has missed the mark so far on football. Chris Beard fell into his lap.

So you're telling me the fact that Ohio State, Bama, Clemson, and Georgia are always at the top of the recruiting rankings year in and year out but they aren't accurate? Hmm I wonder why they make it to the playoffs every year? So the we're the only school they boost the rankings for lol. Man you really come up with some boneheaded conspiracies but this one takes the cake!
I'll repeat it. Texas is consistently rated in the 10, follow? They rate teams with more fans higher than they typically should. Why? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

But recruiting class rankings only matter on signing days. UGA, Bama,Clemson, LSU have taken those 4-5 star kids and turned them in to NFL first round draft picks 3-4 years later. Which is how you win national titles. Texas hasn’t done that. Hopefully Sark who has helped do that at multiple programs and did some at Washington can start doing that at Texas. If Xavier Worthy is any indication of what is to come he can.

Is it the players or coaches?

I’m not sure it’s an either/or proposition. Herman’s best team the sugar bowl team had a lot of Charlie’s guys, and dudes that have went on to have nice NFL careers. Does that mean that had we kept Charlie he would of taken that team to the sugar bowl? Probably not

but the fact is that Herman’s first two recruiting classes have netted next to nothing in the way of impact players. Why is that? Bad coaching? Recruiting the wrong guys? Bad luck? Probably a mixture of all that. Very rarely is there one reason you aren’t a good program.

So why do the ratings services get it right on bama and wrong on texas? I know the answer. I'm checking to see if you do. FYI, the aggys are correct on many of our commits. They get a "bump" after they commit to texas. Why? IT'S TO SELL SUBS TO TEXAS FANS. Texas has more fans than the rest of the b12 combined minus ou.

I don’t think they get it “wrong”. I think we’ve done a bad job of developing the talent once it’s on campus the last 5-6 years, and some guys like Jake Smith for example just couldn’t stay healthy through his career

I also think player usage has been an issue in the past. If Tom Herman had used Bijan last year how Sark has used Worthy this year. Herman is probably the coach right now.

Malik Murphy dropped...

Very few players get a bump. Jordan Whittington got a bump after his performance in the state title game. Who else got a bump? I don't know.

Most of them do. It comes down to offer lists. If a player that is a 3 star gets an offer from Texas, then that guy gets a bump. If he commits, it's a bigger bump.

I've never been too enamored with Murphy. His highlights don't appear to be impressive. Seems slow and unathletic. But I'm no expert on football scouting.

He has a great arm and accuracy but his current level of competition is equal to the freshmen level of Texas High School football. He is a project for sure.

Bijan Robinson played about the same competition.

There are loads of guys that dominate 6A Texas HS football and end up transferring to be a back up at a D2 school. There are loads of guys that played at a small level where they had virtually no competition and are able to take their game up a notch to meet or surpass the bar.

There are plenty of things to be upset about. Getting a highly rated, highly talented 6-5 QB with a plus arm and accuracy is not one of them.

Do rb's have to read coverages? Do they key in on their first receiver or can the progress down the chain? The better and higher the level of play does matter.

Colt McCoy played 2A football at an extremely small school with little to no competition. He ended up being the winningest QB in school history. Quan Cosby played at a 1A school in Mart and had a great career. Jordan Shipley is another example of a small school kid. Garrett Gilbert played 5A (Now 6A) and was a dud. I could give countless examples like this. If a guy can play football then the level of competition doesn't matter.

RBs have to be able to read a defense, yes. They have blocking responsibility, as well as option route responsibility. RBs can screw up pass game just as much as an OL can.

Again, there are loads of examples of both sides of this argument. Have you seen Manning's competition btw? LOL. Not exactly formidable.

So Murphy will be ready when? Not saying it can't be done. The learning curve will be steeper.

Personally I haven't watched a ton of Malik Murphy. From what I have seen is he has a big arm but his release is extremely slow. I would say the perfect thing would be a redshirt season next year to work on his mechanics. I still think Hudson Card has a chance to the QB of the future.
