For those of you who don’t remember, Derek Doris was a JAG WR for Tech 20+ years ago. It is well-documented that he was butthurt that Mackovic and Texas didn’t offer him. We’re playing a game at Lubbock, maybe 1998 or 1999 (?), and this asshole pulls the football equivalent of a Tonya Harding maneuver on starting LB Anthony Hicks (who was a really good player). He was a senior, and it ended his career.
How many Derek Dorises are out there on our remaining schedule? Most of these schools have made no secret that they’re big mad at us for not wanting to financially carry the rest of them on our backs anymore. You know everyone at Tech is pissed. They’re butthurt at baseline. Cougar High is typically a program full of bad people and so is Iowa State. I think those three are the most likely possibilities.
KSU and probably TCU have accomplished enough as programs that I wouldn’t necessarily expect them to intentionally pull some shit like that. That said, how many QBs did TCU take out last year?
