Fisher is an improvement over Sumlin, this is without debate. However, He is also fools gold. He isn't the elite coach aggsy would believe. He will have more success than all previous coaches since Sherrill, but he isn't going to beat the big boys in the SEC any time soon. I just dont see them finishing any season over the next 3 years with less than 4 losses. Aggsy don't have a good QB situation, They didn't get a good one last recruiting cycle and they don't have a good one this cycle. If they get one in 2020, then that means he probably starts to produce by the 2022 season.

Can the aggsy wait till 2022 for their QB to lead them to challenge Bama? I doubt it.

Even the most delusional Aggie wasn't expecting any better than 8-4 maybe 9-3 this season. That's not on Jimbo...that's the team that's on the field. The next two years will tell a lot about Mr. Fisher's impact. But thus far, the fact that he appears interested in the product on the field is a welcome change.

I've said it before about us and I will say it again about aggy:

Year one with a new coach is a throw away. He does great? Cool. He bombs? Cool.

Year one is a throw away period.

I think this team plays with a lot more physicality than under Sumlin. They are sorely lacking in good WRs. Jimbo was as good a hire as aggy was going to make. Did they overpay? yes. Was there anyone better that would have gone to aggy? No. I think Fisher can get them to 9-3, especially if they don't play an elite non-conf team. But are they going to win the SEC? Not bloody likely. Georgia's recruiting class this cycle is crazy.

To me, year 1 is about creating a system and seeing what they can do with the talent they have.

This year the aggsy have talent, in fact they have more talent this year than they will next year. You have to go back and look at recruiting cycles from 3 or 4 years ago. They were good but not great classes. They are exactly what their recruiting class says they are. somewhere between 30 and 20 in ranking. Next year they will be about the same. In year 3 is where you should see some improvement to somewhere between 20 and 10. By year 4 they will likely be in a great position. The problem is that they are paying for Bama, Clemson results and likely wont be happy to wait for 4 years to get it.

Jimbo benefited from first year hype. He closed on most of his class before he experienced his first loss as a coach there. He doesn't get that luxury next year. He is directly recruiting against 3 teams that will likely end with 10 wins this year.

I have to point this out.

Look at the last 3 years Jimbo has coached, two at FSU and this year with Aggsy. Not very impressive. The trend looks like he maybe should give half his paycheck to Jameis Winston. IMO he doesn't get that salary without Winston. He sure didn't earn it before Winston and didn't earn it after Winston.

Aggsy have great assistants, maybe the best money can buy, if they stay the course they will see some success, but they are not patient enough to do that. They have an inferiority complex and this plays into their stupid decisions. They have IMO the best oline coach in the business, and they have a good dline coach. QB coach is also good. Their DC is good but also over-hyped. He will likely be moving on in the next 3 years to a head coaching job. This is what happens when you have great assistants. Right now for them they have to fight hard for recruits against Texas, within Texas and Oklahoma in North Texas, LSU in East Texas and Bama for the tippy top talent.

Combine that with the fact that they play in the SEC and you have a bid mixture. Top QBS, DBs, and WRs, all know that the elite passing in college football is in the Big 12. They will never get the best of the best at those positions . And I know they have a good Wr class this year and a great DB class this year. It is not the normal it is an anomaly. Enjoy it now because it likely won't happen again.

The fact is they made a huge mistake going to the SEC and now they have to deal with fighting for top recruits with schools that can offer much more guarantees of success.

I will never defend aggy....but there is something strange afoot between G Patterson and Jimbo. They are at each other quite a bit. The fact that this article comes from Ft Worth has me somewhat suspect. Not that there is no truth to it....just that the source causes it to lose some credibility.

Some of the things I have seen posted indicate there is more negative recruiting going on back and forth between Paterson and Fischer than there is going against us. I say let em lay waste to each other.

I'm going to laugh if they beat LSU and it ends up putting Texas in the top 10 and playing in a NY bowl.
