Take away the Manning pedigree How do the two QB compare from high school records , accomplishments and
skills . Is one that much superior than the other. The Manning family back ground seems to be much more a part
of the desirability than that of Ewers family. Just wondering if the two with out the family background would compare
on high school records, and college potential. I think either one will be very successful.

From everything I have saw from both of them I would take Ewers. Ewers still has some work to do with his mechanics but he has one of the strongest arms I have seen in a good while. Reminds me a lot of Patrick Mahomes.

I watched tape of one of Manning's regular season games and the final playoff game where his team got prison yarded. Was slightly impressed with the first game-- was covering my eyes in the second game. And that's Louisiana little school private ball.

Pedigree? Ya, he's got it.
A decent arm-- meh-- Ewers is stronger.
Reading D-- gotta go with Manning.
But Manning didn't WOW me.

If Ewers lives up to expectations then he's gone after 2023 anyways. Which still leaves Manning a redshirt freshman (if he decides to come here). It's pretty silly to look at either/or honestly because they both could end up playing here.

I said it but that's not how I meant it. We have a couple of highly regarded qb's on campus. Who's to say that Murphy or Ewers isn't the answer? I don't understand the fixation on a 16 year old kid. Let's wait and see.

He's the number one recruit in the nation, everyone wants him. Landing him would help with getting other recruits. We wouldn't cut the other QBs if he comes, they would still compete.

He's going to be a junior in HS this year. If he chooses Texas, he would only have to potentially wait one year to play. Both Murphy and Ewers aren't going to be at Texas. Whoever doesn't start will most likely end up transferring out.

I dunno....the last time we went all in on a kid whose Dad won the Super Bowl we ended up a divided team with nothing much to show for it.....but it did help with recruiting...

Arm strength is horribly overrated and the differences between the 2 are minimal at best.



I'm way more concerned about accuracy and Manning has no issues in that department. In addition, Manning has had years of tutelage from multiple people that have played QB at the highest possible level.

If you haven’t seen him play then why would you say the ranking is inflated? Hope you enjoyed OU’s run of QBs because with LR gone that’s probably over for now lol.
