manning vs ewers

Arm strength is horribly overrated and the differences between the 2 are minimal at best.

I'm way more concerned about accuracy and Manning has no issues in that department. In addition, Manning has had years of tutelage from multiple people that have played QB at the highest possible level.
Eli and Peyton were never known for their arm strength either.

If you haven’t seen him play then why would you say the ranking is inflated? Hope you enjoyed OU’s run of QBs because with LR gone that’s probably over for now lol.
No. 1 overall recruit? No his stats don’t warrant that. I’m sure he’s going to be a pretty good qb like his family but based on stats alone I don’t think his ranking is warranted as of now. If he comes out and tears it up this year then sure I can understand but right now it’s based a lot on potential associated with his last name.

And I agree with you, the sky has fallen at OU and we’ll never compete for anything again. Probably? Leaving yourself a little wiggle room?

You would be all over his jock, if he were going to sign with ou. You would be on here telling us how he threw a better spiral than Jesus.

You are the greatest passive aggressive troll in internet history. Congratulations, you're the best. You won life.

Well I’m glad I could help you out there son. Doesn’t really take a lot of reasoning skills why he’s ranked where he is LOL. He has a lot of potential and the last name to go with it. Lebby has a great relationship with the Manning family. Where he signs is anyones guess, regardless, at this point he’s ranked very generously lol

You were slobbing all over Rattler’s knob so excuse me if I question your ability to evaluate QBs.

I know it was only me. Chucklz. But enough about me and my 2 out of 3 correct heisman picks, what have you predicted correctly for Texas? For a guy who says he knows alot about football at some point you have to have some correct predictions. Now just for giggles, I'm going to see how honest you are, what was your prediction for Texas' record last year Great Kreskin?

I have predicted we would suck for the past 2 seasons. Is that good enough?

My prediction of the Sooners taking a step back next year is my next one to get right.

From now on stop being mealy mouthed with your predictions and leaving yourself a way out. “Probably” that’s dumb. The Sooners will have a more productive team than they did last year imo, especially on offense. As far as the end record goes, not sure. We were a mere 27 points away from being around Texas’ record last year. Pathetic for a coach in his 5th year.

Do you struggle with reading? Where in there did I say "probably"?

Lol really sticking your neck out there. Our team was gutted. We may not win double digits but we’ll be close if not imo.
The good thing is the Big 12 should be wide open next season. Baylor, Iowa State and OSU were hit hard with graduation. It should be a fun year.

was it a dream I had about us going to the secsecsec?
I'm really glad we aren't going this year. We are nowhere near ready for it. Hopefully one more recruiting class like this last years for offensive and defensive lines and we should be ready.

And you have a great relationship with Longhorn MM.

That's why you get to spend so much time in a Texas board spewing your specific style of bullshit.

Where do you see the third? I think anyone would predict a SOONER step back with a spankin brand new regime. The question though is, do you really believe it? It's only natural that yer still nervous about Sark. 😁

look guys.....as much as I like discussing sooner ineptitude I think we need to steer this thread back to one of my great insights....(surely in all this there may be one?)

Guys, the thread is about Manning vs Ewers. Let's keep it on topic and leave out the personal stuff.

Is Manning ready to commit or is he taking his time
I’ve heard that he’s going to wait until after the summer break. He’s probably going to commit right before his HS season. Honestly after watching a little film I see a good QB but nothing about what I saw really wowed me. He’s incredibly accurate but he doesn’t show much arm strength. His best comp is Eli Manning. He looks like a literal clone of his uncle Eli. I would be thrilled if we landed him but more because of the other recruits he would attract. I’m sure his football IQ and knowledge are way off the charts. But in terms of physical attributes there’s no comparison between Manning and Ewers. Ewers by a mile. I just don’t know about Ewers’ IQ and leadership skills. We’re going to find out.

you don't think this kid will know how to prepare? and your "dig" at him is to compare him to a 2 time super bowl champion? neither brady or montana had major arms-- they were smarter than everybody else. anyway, again, if we get both, we will be very happy. it doesn't have to be simms and applewhite.

If it is down to Texas and Georgia, if I was him I’d take Texas. Kirby has a damn predicament with his qb room imo. He has to go with Bennett imo or he loses all credibility, but on the other hand how in the heck does he get to where a guy like Bennett is starting at Georgia? I wouldn’t trust the process at Georgia considering the qb transfers etc they’ve had

I listened to a podcast a couple weeks back and they had Riley Dodge on as a guest. He coached Ewers at Southlake Carroll. He said his football IQ and leadership skills were off the charts. He also said he is a fierce competitor. Patrick Mahomes was who he compared him to. I'm super excited for the spring game. He has all the traits to be a number 1 overall pick but as we all know that means nothing until you produce on the field.

Believe me I hope we get him and I hope he becomes the greatest player in UT football history. But from what I see in his film there’s nothing I saw that overwhelmed me but I could be all wrong. I’m not coach nor a scout so what would I know about QB talent. I just remember seeing VY on film showing his passing and running skills and being blown away. I’m certain that Manning’s got all the mental and leadership attributes of an NFL vet or he wouldn’t be as highly rated as he is right now.
