After talking to separate sources today, it's still unclear exactly who Texas is targeting at the moment - they're playing it incredibly close to the chest.
What I can say is that I'm guessing they're going after grad transfers, as (a) GTs can still leave school past the regular transfer deadline and (b) Texas had a lot of success with its grad transfer from last season, SirJabari Rice. The experience of upperclassmen has been proven to be a key ingredient in getting to the Final Four or Elite Eight, as Texas showed last year.
This year's starting lineup will be:
G Max Abmas (Graduate Transfer)
G Tyrese Hunter (Junior)
F Dillon Mitchell (Sophomore)
F Dylan Disu (Senior)
C Kadin Shedrick (Senior)
Bench will be:
G Chendall Weaver (Sophomore)
F Ze'Rik Onyema (Junior)
F Brock Cunningham (Senior Citizen)
F Alex Anemekwe (Sophomore)
G Gavin Perryman (Sophomore)
This leaves three spots on the roster. What they need is:
– two wings
– another big (ideally one with center skills)
