If you have a job that requires the kind of work that Mercury Exteriors does, do yourself a favor and give them a call.
They are exceptional people and their workmanship is impeccable. Also, they are lifetime Longhorns.
I needed a new roof. I do what I always do. I get 3 or 4 bids and then I decide who has the best price and, more importantly, do I trust them?
3 of the bids were essentially the same with 1 lower outlier. They all quoted Category 3 shingles. Unfortunately, I was having trust issues with the low bid.
I noticed that Ketch has Mercury Exteriors as an Orangebloods sponsor. I figured what the heck, so I called them. Since I live in Houston and they are an Austin based company, my first question was, “Do you do roofs in Houston?” Garner told me they have done roofs in Houston, Ft. Worth and San Antonio.
Chris had business in Houston 2 days later and stopped by my house to look at the job. His price was in line with everyone else’s except he was bidding Category 4 shingles. I told him what my low-bid was and without hesitation he matched it. Since I had no trust issues with Chris, Mercury Exteriors got the job. (Especially since I was getting a better product at the lowest price.)
The experience was even better than I was hoping for. The day before the job was to begin, we got a box of Tiff’s Treats delivered to us thanking us for the job and a little comfort food for “enduring” the racket that putting a roof on entails. (Small gesture - nice touch)
When Garner arrived the next day to start the job, I asked him if he could also paint the chimney. I was expecting to pay extra for that. Instead he said, “We’ll just add it on, no charge”. A little while later, he noticed that one of the fascia boards was a little worn. (That’s really not part of the roof) He offered to replace it. “We’ll just add it on, no charge”. He decided to do 2 of the fascia boards since it would look better. Again “add on, no charge”.
At his own expense, he bought the paint to finish the job. One little minor repair to the soffit was brought to my attention a few hours later. Another “add on, no charge”.
When the job was finished and the crew was headed back to Austin, my wife and I checked out the finished roof and both of us thought it looked spectacular. We are extremely happy customers.
Like I said, do yourself a favor and call Mercury Exteriors to bid on your job. You won’t be disappointed.
