No----- players that were starters were crapping the bed in that game and as girlfriends tend to do, Leach was telling his players they needed to get better, while the fat little girlfriends were at home consoling their football player boyfriends, and making them feel better than they actually were. He's referring to Craig james son and his fat little girlfriend (mostly).
