Name the last team to make the CFP

Like I said, you would have made as much if not more noise. What is worse, losing by 28 in week 2 to #1 or the last week to # 2 by 24? I am not crying and believe that the 28 pt loss killed us but please don't be hypocritical. We had a good season and didn't get the nod. It happens, and the only way to get over the hump is to continue an upward trajectory, which I hope we can do.

It is kinda funny as the mighty sec Conf was supposed to keep you from being treated like this.

Look, I am not playing the victim. We should have played Bama better to guarantee a better shot. I am just pissed that OSU gets rewarded for playing only 6 games. Not that they aren't good, but that conference sat back while the ACC, Big 12, and,SEC beat each other up with conference-only schedules for a month before jumping in. I just think them getting in is BS. At least ND played 11 games.

Hey I wouldn’t blame you for being pissed. atm has been ranked 5th for several weeks now.

First...a playoff is stupid. Second...people that want to expand the playoff is silly. Third...we will see 1 continue and 2 will happen. We will also see 4-16 team conferences, which is also stupid.

Look....I am not saying you dont have a good argument...you do. Now you know how we felt in 2008 when we had one loss after having to play 3 top 5 teams in a row....only to get jobbed when Art Bryles did not vote Texas in the top 25 at all. This caused the computer rankings to place OU ahead of us(even though we beat them) and so OU got to play for the Natty and we got a lesser Bowl. If you can tell me that you thought we got screwed then maybe I will be on your side in this one.

Besides, more than the 28 pt loss to Bama was the fact that you only played 3 teams all year with a winning record and your only good win was against a 3 loss team.

A 16 team playoff is no less stupid than two 6-6 teams playing a bowl game with 5000 people in the stands. Yes most years it would end up 1-2 or maybe 1-3, but so does the NCAA tournament most years and it’s one of the most popular events in America

Let me clarify. A Playoff to determine a stand alone champion is dumb.

People bitch about ND choking, but want to expand that would ensure their place annually.
People bitch about G5 schools not playing anyone, but want to expand that would ensure their place annually.
People bitch about teams getting in that don't win their division, but want to expand that would ensure their place annually.

March Madness is popular in basketball because the regular season is pretty inconsequential.

Well I think one of the reasons the playoff doesn’t present you with more intriguing matchups is because they don’t actually put the 4 best teams in. Florida, aggy, and maybe a few other teams are better than ND, but all the committee does is count losses and put the conference champions in. They aren’t open to the idea that a 2 loss team in a tough conference is better than a one loss team from a lesser conference, and as long as you aren’t open to outside the norm thinking you won’t ever see the best 4 teams in there.

There is no way to confirm nor deny. Even ranking a conference is subjective to bias.

Playoffs will expand because the only thing we care about in this country is money. I will enjoy it, however. I'm just saying, it is a terrible way to "crown" a champion.

I agree with this 100%. That is why having a team that only plays 6 games devalues the regular season further. I do not want to expand the play off either. I thought expanding to 4 was supposed to help the situation, but it hasn't. I love that an early slip up can haunt you late. That's pne of the things that makes college football great.

I think the best team in college football has made the playoffs every year and won it. Arguing over 4th place or 5th place doesn’t matter.

I agree. So why do people want to add more teams to devalue the regular season and water down the postseason? I think most would agree that Bama and Clemson are the top 2. Hell, the old BCS system would work this year.

People want to add more teams so that their team can have a better chance to be in the playoff. It’s not complicated.

When is the last time a team was taken to the woodshed in a conference championship game by 24 points in a rematch only to create the possibility of a 3rd game in the same season? Just asking. Come on guys; you would all be apoplectic if you were in our shoes. I can see both sides. I was hoping rather than thinking we were entitled to anything, but OSU's path is a bit disconcerting on principle. Fire away.

You have a right to feel upset, just like we did in 2008. We beat blOwU and they played for the MNC. We did end up #2 that year in the polls, however I'm confident Texas was better than both blOwU and Florida.

With that said, you lost by 4 TDs to Bama, they lost by 24 pts to Clemson, however, they have a win over Clemson, and that trumps any win you have on your resume. The biggest issue I see is that you haven't lost a game since september while they lost their last game, that used to mean something.

Why is it considered watering down the regular season, what it might do is force teams to schedule more appealing match ups or maybe, just maybe lower ticket prices.
