Nebraska Sucks-- Frost is fired

I think I would play that Smothers kid at QB. He can run and be a serviceable passer. They are trying to be a passing offense, but they can't run and block. They need that extra runner by using the QB RPO.

With Ewers out, Casey Thompson would've been starting for a good Texas team if he never transferred. Instead he's going to lose every game and his coach just got fired. Life comes at you fast.

Who the world do you hire if your Nebraska? The fact that they made the move 3 games in to the year says they have some targets in mind.

Dan Patrick a couple weeks ago mentioned Urban Meyer going there. I do think Urban will coach again I don’t think he will let the Jaguar fiasco be the last thing people remember of him. I also think most of the blue blood programs would shy away from him, so maybe he and Nebraska are at match.

would this be a program that takes a shot at Deion? He could certainly bring some talent with him and some attention.

would Lane Kiffin leave Ole miss and come “home” of sorts? There is no logical option here.

Nebraska was once one of the mighty programs in this nation, the one I feared in my youth from the 70's through the 90's and my fearest rilvary to this day. Conference realignment and cfb in general have ****ed it all up. Imo. Yes I'm mad as ****. The game's got away from us.

Well let’s see...where is a great coach at a stepping stone school? Hmmm, oh I know, Dave Aranda! Nebraska should be setting up camp in Waco yesterday.

I can see that. I have seen other names like Matt Campbell, Mark Stoops, Luke Fickel, and Jeff Monken(Army). Oh, and let's not forget the name everybody adds to the list Urban Meyer.

Yeah look out for Urban… like I said I think he will coach again and I don’t think it will be at a top program.

Mark Stoops and Matt Campbell have turned down better jobs in the past, but who knows.

Dave Aranda......

I just can't see Nebraska landing a big time, in demand coach. It's in the middle of nowhere with limited ability to recruit.
I think the best they will be able to do is hire an older, tired coach looking for a fat paycheck and a path to retirement.

So… Urban to Nebraska for a couple years? Lol

Im hearing Tom Herman’s name in the mix lol. I actually don’t think he’d be a bad hire.
That would actually be a good fit. I was very critical of Herman but I don’t think he is a bad coach. Just think the job here was a bit too big for him. I think he will do much better the 2nd time around. Especially if he’s matured and humbled a bit

Art Briles imo. They need each other right now. A new start

Agreed. I think Nebraska would be a good fit as a tier 2 type of coaching gig for him. The pressure of a top tier program like Texas was too much for him and his HC experience at the time.

He could bring the old gang back: Yurcich, Bryan Carrington, Ash or Orlando. I feel like their offensive and defensive schemes might work better at a school like Nebraska. They would do well recruiting for Nebraska.

How much longer is Texas paying him? Anyone think that’s the reason he’s not coaching (Texas buyout), or he’s just not getting any offers? I would have thought someone would offer him as an OC by now. When BOB leaves bama maybe Saban Can bring Herman in as an analyst or OC lol.

Herman is just too thin skinned and immature. He has a lot of growing up to do & might not ever do it.

I think this is the last year we are paying him.

Nebraska is a place where young players have never heard of...Players don't want to be a thousand miles from nowhere.
