Offensive changes may be coming

They're not leaving, they did what a lot of juniors do. What do people think about me? It's free advice

Mean ol Herman must be hurting their feelings at practice. People are just going to have to have patience with Herman's culture. It's clearly not for everyone, but once he gets his type of kids in the program that know hat they are getting into I think things will get much better.

Well they are potential NFL players so it's not like they don't have what it takes.

So after watching a full season of Tom Herman and the UT football team . . . it's deja vu all over again for me. I've seen this movie before and it's based on a Shakesperian tragedy!

Tom should take a week or two and analyze what Charlie did wrong and not only learn from it but also be pro-active and make the tough decisions now.

We all know Tim Beck will continue to be a failure . . . except for Tom. He needs to figure that out now, not a year from now.

Well the buddy buddy approach that Strong had didn't work. The players never once rallied around him to win a game when he desperately needed them to. Last time I checked these players leaving early have played the best they have ever played under Herman and as a result have improved their draft stock. Maybe they should thank him instead of being a bunch of babies.

I’d say Charlie taking over the defense and Orlando continuing to coach up the defense had more to do with their improvement than Herman. I mean Herman has stated he doesn’t have a lot to do with the offense. I imagine he has even less to do with the defense so I’d say most of that credit goes to Orlando.

Good grief, Ryan. Just stop.

I think that Texas should just gut the entire athletic department from coaches to trainers to support personnel. Just clean house and start over.

Then I would create a search committee of experts in how to run an athletic departments and coach D1 sports. You know them. The guys that decipher all the weaknesses and issues with a team by watching 1 quarter of a TV broadcast (not All 22s, like the coaches do). The guys that never go to practice, but know exactly what the depth chart should be at all time.

You know, guys that pretend to be experts behind the anonymity of internet chat rooms.

Just giving credit where it’s due. Orlando has more to do with getting these guys paid than Herman. I imagine even Herman would tell you that.

I really question the integrity of a person that wants someone to fail in order to be right on the internet.

It's like hedging your own bet.

If you rip the coach and he wins, you can "gladly" admit that you were wrong and no one will care because we're winning.

If you rip the coach and he loses, you tried to tell us all and we should listen to you because you obviously know more about sports.

GTFO

Herman is responsible for Orlando, just like he's responsible for Beck and all the other coaches.

I agree. We can't keep doing the new coach thing. We'll lose recruits as well as go through transfers again due to players not fitting the next new system or they don't like the coaches vision.
BS if we don’t start winning by 2019 we need be looking for a new coach.give Herman 2 years to build his team and 3 year win with his team if not he is in trouble here at Texas point blank.

No one WANTS to fire a coach. He is likely to get 3 years. Do I think it’s impossible that he could be forced out after next year under certain circumstances? No I don’t.
I think the 3dr year is crucial for Herman or any Coach for that matter

I agree. I’m not Herman’s biggest fan, but it’s starting to feel like a 3rd year isn’t a gaurntee without some significant improvement next year.
I would like see us win 8-9 games next year before committing a 3rd year,if no improvement after the 3rd year he is in trouble period.

What is beyond old is your continual praising of Strong and you continual criticism and backhanded comments about Herman. We had a long conversation about this. Apparently you don't get it.

I've said this for quite a while. Alabama's time is coming to go through this. Their fans are the most unrealistic in CFB, but its coming to them when $aban retires. Their only potential saving grace is if Swinney takes that job. FSU, OSU, Michigan, Florida, Texas, 0U, PSU, ND, Miami, USC, etc. have had their turn. It all ebbs and flows. No program is immune.

Some programs manage the "cycles" a lot better than others. We've had nine losing seasons in the last 32. You have to go back to 1923 to find nine losing seasons for tOSU, and back to 1924 for OU.

Texas is a solidly second-tier program since Royal's last MNC by most measures, I'm sad to say. Makes you wonder if the people that run this outfit -- with all its underexploited built-in advantages -- will ever truly manage to get out of their own way.

3 years and no Progress? No here at Texas

We've had one coach that we fired that had 3 losing seasons. I hear what you're saying but let's not act like Texas has a habit of firing coaches. As far as progress I think it all depends on what you're considering. If TH goes 6-7, 6-7, 8-4 are you looking to fire him? I'll bet you'll have a few fans considering it next year.

I am willing to give him 2 more because he will have his players and there want be any excuses

guys, we are going to be better at almost every spot next year. not punter, and not whoever replaces holton and deshon. but other than that...

The admin at UT couldn't find their way out of a wet paper bag. Fvcking idiots.

A lot of defensive starters will be gone next season, in addition to our punter, a RB (Warren), some offensive linemen, & receivers.

mark my words-- better at every position except punter and maybe a couple secondary spots. you sky is falling guys will have to search a little harder this time next year. i mean, you'll find something because that's what you do; but it will have to be a little more nit-picky

I’m looking forward to it. I’m ready to see Texas be good again. BTW, I’m not saying the sky is falling.
