Last major of the year. Entries need to be in by 10pm Wednesday.

British Open Week (The Open): this is the 152th British Open and the final chance of 2024 to grab a Major so make your picks wisley. The 7,385-yard par-71 course has an out-and-back configuration similar to the Old Course in St. Andrews and the prevailing wind allows for a rather benign start followed by a fight to the finish. The Open Championship should be an extremely competitive tourney as it seems like a whole lot of golfers are coming into this week in great form. Can Rory shake off the US Open putting fiasco and finally close the deal on winning another major or will it be a young Ludvig Aberg who figures out how to finish in style. So many storylines and you could be the one with the biggest impact. I expanded the field a little so we have more options to pick from in each group and I've even included Tiger Woods as the 60th selection in our field because I'm still a believer!!! All you have to do is pick the winning team and take home the final major of the year and all its loot. Just log into https://major-bets.griley.dev/ Select your team and send in your entry fee, it's that easy. Let's finish off the 2024 major season in style.

Fun facts about Royal Troon:

· Royal Troon’s Old Course was founded in 1878, expanded to 18 holes 10 years later and re-designed by five-time Champion Golfer James Braid ahead of its first Open in 1923.

· This year will mark the 10th time Royal Troon has hosted the Open Championship.

· Troon has the longest and the shortest holes in Open Championship golf; the 6th is the longest at 601 yards and the famous 8th hole is the shortest at 123 yards.

· In 1973, a 71 year old Gene Sarazen played his last Open at Troon and made a hole-in-one on the famous No. 8 Postage Stamp Hole

· Originally called “Ailsa” because there is a perfect view of the rocky islet of that name, from the tee. The smallness of the putting surface accounted for the current name when William Park writing in “Golf Illustrated” said, ” A pitching surface skimmed down to the size of a Postage Stamp”.
