This one will be close to start, but the Arkansas secondary is just so bad that the floodgates will open in the passing game eventually.

I struggle to figure out how this game will play out. I think it could play out one of two ways. Either Quinn Ewers gets time to look to those midrange passes that he loves so much and Texas runs away with this, or Arkansas gets pressure on Ewers and he has to resort to those checkdowns that he loves so much and Arkansas is able to cover the spread but still lose.
I worry about Arkansas being able to exploit the right side of the line with blitzes. It's the only way Arkansas can slow Texas down. Lord knows their DB's can't hang with the Texas WR's.
I'm going to give the o-line the benefit of the doubt because if Arkansas is able to get a lot of pressure then it does not bode well for Texas against A&M.

At the end of the day, I just can't see how Arkansas can match Texas point for point. It's going to be close for a while, but separation will occur in the second half.

I spent the entire 2021 preseason trashing Arkansas and downplaying the previous rivalry. As someone who had never experienced the Texas-Arkansas years, I thought it seemed like people were holding onto the past. Arkansas was coming off a 3-7 season in 2020, and I was convinced Texas would easily win. My observation was about as wrong as two left feet.
Arkansas QB Taylen Green is back and is a difference-maker in the pass-and-run game. In addition, Arkansas running back Ja'Quinden Jackson is healthy. The good news, for Texas, is Arkansas' secondary is banged up and cannot hang with these Longhorn receivers. I expect Texas to have multiple explosive plays.
However, I refuse to overlook Arkansas again.

On paper, this is a game Texas should win pretty easily against an overmatched opponent. But this is a rivalry game, on the road, that I think will play closer than the match-ups indicate it should.
Texas wins and Quinn Ewers puts up big numbers but it’s a game that’s close in the second half.
